Salford City's loss of league form continues to disappoint as they went down 2-1
at previously winless and basement club Garforth Town. A Ben Beresford equaliser on the half hour looked to be good enough for a share of the points on an extremely blustery and windswept evening until Adam Priestley grabbed his second for the Yorkshire side just ten minutes from time after the Ammies had twice failed to clear their area.
It's back to West Yorkshire this Saturday 18th September when the Ammies travel to Ossett Albion who have yet to register a league win this season!

A comprehensive 2-6 defeat for Salford City at previously winless Ossett Albion has started the alarm bells ringing as the Ammies continue to drop down the league to 17th place with just one win from eight league outings. Poor officiating had a hand in Ossett's two opening goals with less than ten minutes played but ultimately it was the Ammies own failings which contributed to another poor display. Rhodri Giggs and Darren Hockenhull grabbed the two consolation goals but there will need to be a massive improvement all round this coming Saturday 25th September when Chester and their large travelling support come to Moor Lane for a league fixture ko 3:00pm.

To icon_biggrin.gifRUNK: to post last night. Salford City were never at the races yesterday when in front of 700 spectators at Moor Lane they fell to a comprehensive 4-0 defeat by promotion favourites Chester FC. The Ammies failed to register even one decent attempt on goal and have now taken just one league point from a possible eighteen on offer.
There's another tough game for Salford this coming Tuesday 28th September, ko
7:45 pm when Skelmersdale United are the visitors to Moor Lane.

Matters go from worse to worse for Salford City who now find themselves in next to bottom place in the league table following a dismal 5-0 home defeat tonight at the hands of Skelmersdale United. The Ammies were never in the game and now look forward to an FA Trophy cup tie at Ossett Albion this coming Saturday where they lost in the league 6-2 just over ten days ago. Clearly matters need to improve all rond and there are some big changes due in the pipeline. Watch this space.!

Know a few lads who went tonight. They say it was really poor stuff, completely void of a midfield. Or should I say, the midfield were completely overlooked by the long ball tactics of the somewhat under pressure back line ?
A bit of a mess really, even though I don't follow it and don't know what standard they are up against.

FC 1 Buxton 2 last night. Somehow lost after being in control of the game for 70 mins.

Still in the FA Cup though. Norton + Stockon away in the next round. icon_cool.gif

Norton and Stockton away. What! icon_eek.gif A two man team. You should have no problem there at all. icon_lol.gif

Salford City's interest in the FA Trophy was quickly ended with a 4-1 Preliminary Round defeat at Ossett Albion thia afternoon. To make matters worse dubutant Colin Quirk was sent off in the second half which also saw Steve Foster score the Ammie's consolation goal from point blank range.
Salford return to league action on Tuesday 5th October at Moor Lane, ko 7:45pm when fellow strugglers Durham City are the visitors.

Leigh lost 5-0 at home to Garforth in the Trophy after being at 0-0 on 75 minutes - I guess having three players sent off didn't help though!

FC lost again at the weekend, 2-0 away at Mickleover Sports. Quite possibly the worst ground in the league.

Ossett Town tomorrow, home match played at Stalyvegas.

Interesting stuff and a great start for him last night. Any Turkey-ites coming to Costa del Crilly on Saturday?
