| Whoever we get, I pray the club doesn't repeat their biggest cock-up in recent times, and offer him a 5 year deal

| This weeks rugby league press has Ed Farish quoted as saying there are 4 or 5 on the shortlist with Brian Smith being one of them.
Apart from Noble and Smith, wonder who the other 2 or 3 may be.

Sky Report
rlBrian Noble and Brian Smith are on the shortlistrl
Alan Hunte is also on the shortlist , which leaves us guessing who the other 2 are if it's 5
Quote: SCR-SeaDiver "Sky "The shortlist is still being put together but we've started to talk to people now," Farish added. "I think we're talking weeks rather than months." Farish
No announcement is expected until director Andrew Chalmers and director of rugby Graham Lowe arrive back from New Zealand in mid-April

| It wouldn't be the end of the world to appoint Noble, I just feel we could do better. Smith is the man for me, but I'll back whoever the Club appoint at this stage.

| Looking at the nominations there is a mixture of those currently in employment at clubs and some not currently in work.
As we need to improve attendances as well as develop a competitive, nay, winning, side I would like another approach to Warrington, again for Adrian Morley, only this time as head coach.
He has played under many coaches, some on the list, and against the best of the rest in a playing career here and in Australia,as well as on the international scene.
I believe he now has the requisite coaching qualifications all that is required is for him to focus his mind on coaching now and surrender his desire to finish his playing career with Warrington.
I cannot see Warrington being prepared to stand in his way should the offer be made.
Some may suggest he is inexperienced but obviously he has Graham Lowe as a director of rugby and not only is there assistance available at the club but he has many friends and contacts in this country and Down Under.
He is friends from his playing days with Barrie McDermott, who is head of youth development at Leeds.
He is still friendly with Sean Long, after the faux pas Down Under when Noble was the coach so it seems likely that Sean Long would be retained.
Morley will be fresh and up to date on coaching issues and has been at the fore of defensive structures and how to unpick them.
With the need to improve attendances, the public turning out to support a local hero cannot be overlooked.
Those who may knock him for not playing for the local side need only look at other sports where it has been hugely beneficial for those people to leave any bad influences behind to fulfil their potential.

Nah. He's never coached at professional level. How would he be a better option than Smith, Sheens, etc?
For the first time in a long, long time, Salford have the opportunity to sign a top class coach. Why go for a rookie?
