1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

They are to be congratulated on that;and for having supporters who do not spend their time criticising the club
but thanking their investors.
We do not seem to be too far away on the playing side despite everything being disgraceful.
Would I be at fault for suggesting that as everything in their garden is ever so rosy they should sell out every home game in their nice stadium and having scraped to victory against a side who self-destruct,their supporters and BBC reporters could show just a little grace in victory ? After all, without being an expert in these matters, those players who did not emerge from their academy would probably have cost more than the entire Salford squad.
There does appear to have been some money spent on rltheir Academyrl and probably a tidy sum spent on their pre-season training with the Emirates tour to Australia.
You should have been there - we weren't too far behind,on the pitch.

| Sadly I think yesterday just highlighted our lack of squad depth. Live SCR-SeaDiver says we were also missing key players (and lost Godwin early on) but we appear to have very little in way of replacements. However is it time to take a leaf out of Warrington's book from yesterday and start to field more youngsters, the only way these kids are going to improve is to be given a shot in the first team. We're highly unlikely to finish in the top 8 and we're out of the cup, so all in all there's not an awful lot for us to play for other than pride. Lets now take this chance to blood the lads maybe one or two one week and then alternate for the next. Ours 20's are clearly a talented bunch but will they get to show that on the big stage, if not now, when?

| Totally agree and for me - again - I would like to see DJ @ 13 with young Theo being given a chance. Sneyd too if only for his kicking game.

| I'd like to see that U20's get a bit of a run for the remainder of the season, especially Sneyd and Owen who are more than capable. I think it may be a season or two too soon for young Theo but only Hunte can say for certain. Whatever happened to Callum Marriott and Alex Davidson (apologies if I got it wrong there) the two forwards who had a run out last season against Hull I think it was. They more than held their own from what I remember. Like a few have already said, not much to play for now so lets give them a run out and see how they fair.

They have got one player in their squad who came through our academy ain't they, plus one player who is Salford based?
Warrington are in a position where they can blood youngsters as they have a strong squad and a successful team. I'm sure our academy lads will be given the opportunity when the time is ready.

You have got to be one of the most boring posters on this forum behind Michigan Red. Why would their supporters criticise the club and their investors when they get top 4 finishes every year topped off with numerous Wembley appearances and not only that, they're probably witnessing the best ever Rugby League they've ever seen at Warrington. '" ]

I can't believe i'm actually answering you. If they fielded their strongest 17 we'd be looking at a cricket score matey.

Beat me to it. Where we take your talented players who have long and successful careers infront of them who have aspirations to win trophies, your like our OAP rest-home for our older players who struggle with injuries.... Vinnie Anderson, Rob Parker.

Looking forward to Tony Smith coming out with the usual 'too many teams in superleague' comment sometime soon, then poaching the best players from the smaller clubs in the off season therefore making the competition even weaker.

But it wasn't always so - me being boring or Warrington being a team reaching Wembley numerous times.Nor do I think I witnessed the best rugby league ever seen,on Sunday.
Moran started investing in 2003.In 2008,Cullen who had been coach before Moran arrived endured abuse from those Wire followers, and sit-down protests. All this despite the investment. All this before the Academy started producing. All this after not a great deal since reaching Wembley in 1990 and losing and then reaching Wembley in 2009 after averaging attendances of 8,000 - (if Wikipedia is to be believed.)
Not quite Utopia,then.
Oh,and I believe they did field their strongest side - barring those injured, and they rested Briers.Just as we fielded our best side.It wasn't a cricket score, was it ?
