Stole my thunder, couldn't have put it better mate. (but I'm having a go anyway )
This is the first time I've had a grumble on here for a while and over the past 12 months I've gone from one of the clubs fiercest defenders ( and I’ll include the team in that) to a negative pessimist. I've got to admit I'm feeling the same as many on here and those I spoke to on the way and at Wembley last weekend. I don't recall a time when I felt so detached from the club. Many of you know me personally and know of my affiliation with the club but right now it feels like a the breaking up of a relationship with someone you've known for years, that kind of it's more of an effort to meet each other and you both know it's not working.
I have made many sacrifices (including walking out on a job, not that that's the clubs fault) to watch and help the club over many years and it hurts me to feel this way but it's starting to feel like a one way relationship with me doing all the work. OK yes over the years I've become accustomed to the defeats (many of them massive) the embarrassment of talking to friends about how poor they are and then trying to defend them with the "they may be but they're my " argument but I don't want to make that effort anymore as I feel that the club doesn't help itself in any way 90% of the stuff it does is either done wrong, poorly or just never completed. After last seasons "effort" by the whole organisation I feel deflated, let down and very disappointed, the way we celebrated the Willows was a sham, the off field matters we're again embarrassing and on the field weren't much better. Then there's the off season, like has pointed out, no real promotion of the club and the move to Barton, in fact its Sale that's getting most of the exposure, no new interviews with players for the website (if there’s no news, make some), no new merchandise and in fact I don’t even know where it would be sold from in the future.
Barton is the last chance I feel for Salford as a club to make a real go of things and bring back some good times but as it stands I don't feel that's going to be achieved.

And Preston Grasshoppers.
Good posts KOTS, LF & BC. We just have to hope that the penny drops with someone who can do something.

| Like others here I've been a perennial backer of the club but the last 12 -18 months has sorely tested my love for the club. I personally feel the club don't give a damn about the supporters or about attracting potential supporter ,The Willows deserved a better send off it was cheap and pathetic. It appears obvious to a lot of supporters that our backroom and admin staff are poor and are simply treading water, now in this climate you would think people would be looking over there shoulder with worry about keeping their job . The media and marketing and retail is appallingly mediocre, with a degree of arrogance that is insulting . I haven't felt this way about the club for no reason,I fear that if we don't have a complete clear out from top to bottom we will soon die out especially if we don't increase out profile and attendances .Barton was supposed to be a bright new start but I'm actually dreading it unless something positive and fresh happens soon. If sale move in I fear we will become the poorer relation ,if Kennedy wants to buy us will that be the kickstart we need ? Or will it be the kiss of death?.

Basically who's going to be the first to openly admit that they are upset by the blue seats because it is a rugby union club? or maybe in some cases I get the impression it's because of the colour blue being associated with Manchester City. Salford as an entity was never going to be able to fully fund a stadium so getting co tennants is the perfect (and from a business snse the only one)solution to making it self sufficient. I personally don't care who the other tennants are as long as Salford get a 50/50 at use of the facilities, there will have to be some give and take (still I've not seen anyone sayd that if Sale want a Friday for a game and we play on a Sunday that it would be a good thing for the fans despite the bitching about Fridays being no good - it would just be the queue for another doommongers session).
We have a state of the art new ground, from what I hear a bloody good young coach and the nucleous a decent young team so why is knowone looking at the positivies rather than doing all they can to bring everyone down with thier downbeat attitude.
Why not just simply not bother as the collective negativity is draining, go find something else to whine endlessly about, find Jesus, hug a tree or develop a drug habit just sod off and stop trying to drag everyone else down.'"
Your such a do gooder with to much to say.Have you actually got a life or what. You spend every spare minute on this site preaching so called positives and slagging negativity. What your failing to see is REALISM .The club has been run by muppets for far to long now and i can totally understand why people like Black Cat are pi55ed off with the shambolic running of the club its not Black Cat bringing people down its JW and the board and do gooders like you who fail to see decades of failure.
Solly is right with his post a buyer is needed asap. The clubs needs a massive wake up and shake up like you MR

| That wry smile comment has absolutely riled me, Rugby Union is getting its greasy hands on our best players and now our facilities by the looks of things look at the link up between Saracens and Wigan I honestly can't what Wigan will get from it.
KOTS post sums it all up really, this should be a time for excitement when as per with Salford its not looking good and for anyone with an affiliation with this club the results could be heart breaking if we don't get things right this time...last chance saloon.

There is only one man who can make a difference but do we really think he is going to bump of his two trusted lieutenants at this crutual stage of our transfer to barton.
I don't think so when we finally move to barton and things don't change with the potential of new fans @ a new venue with new exposure then the questions have to be asked.
MP is just a pawn in the big game here, he did the right thing in getting the message out that things need to change, like trish goldsmith before him big ideas lots of Passion getting everyone working then dispached when the kitchen started to get a little walm,
The players moan because under mcrae it was all half days ect now they are being worked hard for the 1st time then the dummies fall out
I hope Mr Wilkinson n Mr clegg give parish a chance and don't just throw this golden opportunity away as this is really the last chance saloon....

| So much negativity!!!!!
Looking ahead to next season, we always perform better than expected, when we go out and buy wisely. When the board gives a coach a big pot of cash to go out and spend on whoever the coach can convince the board to sign, it usually bites us in the ass. For example:
2006 - Karl Harrison recruits a few players from relegated teams, the Reds perform well, building on the previous seasons.
2007 - We make some high profile signings and the Reds perform below what is expected of them.
What we all need to remember is, some of our players didn't play anywhere near to what they are capable of. Let's face it McRae's coaching and conditioning methods were terrible. Extra fitness and just little bit of strength work will see the Reds improve. Feka and Anderson looked better as the season progressed, getting those two fit for the start of the season, and keeping them fit, is a real necessity. When Alex Davidson played for the first team, he looked to have the size for Super League, and if Moon plays centre, our first choice backline could be a real handful next season.
I don't think our recruitment has been that bad, two players for the future, two for present and one squad filler. Could be worse. McPherson will be a key player in the second row, and Jordan James is quite agressive in defence. My main worry is, who will get us out of our 20m area with Cashmere gone.
This could just be the darkest hour, before the light starts to appear.
Besides, if you think our recruitment has been bad, Hull have just signed Martin Aspinwall. The player described as a power house second rower? Their recruitment looked to be going well, until McRae got involved!!!

read Black Cats post his morning I was reasonably upbeat about the move ( it help's being colourblind
It was nothing to do with my well known hatred of football, it was meerly a statement that I look at some comments about the blue seats and see that what some people mean.

| To me it would appear that if what some are saying on here that some of the senior players don't like him of his methods that they should shut up or ship out, only for so long can we blame coach after coach for our/thier failings, time for the players for front up and except the blame for their shortcomings.
Would it maybe have something to do with the fact that said players don't like that we have a coach who questioned thier commitment? their fitness and there application? and if what I hear is correct refuses to let them continue in that vien with him in charge. You do get the impression that under MP player power will result in nothing but the players getting bollocked and extra training.

I have a nice life thanks for asking!!!
It's not that I am slagging negativity more than I'm saying if your going to be negative fine a solution rather than droning on and on.
Everybody knows the club needs a shakle up and that a new owner is needed but continually saying so does nothing but bore people. Can you see anyone with a few spare quid from Salford thinking I know I'll buy the club but before I do I'll just see what my potential target audience think of the club, the move to a new ground and life in general - think we all know anyone with half a brain cell would run a mile after reading this forum.
I want the club and the team to thrive, I want the move to the new ground to be a catalyist and I want things to be that rosey that peple can only complain because there is nothing to complain about, my love for the club can't be questioned.
