I'm sure this comment is pretty tongue in cheek but I do hope that some people's expectations aren't set far too high. Expect nothing more than a battle for top 8 with a mixture of disappointing defeats and some encouraging victories. At least taking this kind of outlook isn't going to hurt too much and anything better than this would be a real bonus.
I'm sure we won't have it all our own way this year and we will undoubtedly hit some poor form at some stage like most clubs do. What's important is we keep the faith, remain positive and refrain from being ultra critical and verbally abusing our own players. This is something that has unfortunately crept in over recent years and I don't like it and I don't see what good it does.

And it won't be the last with some of the high expectations I read on here. I'll just be relieved when I read in the local advertiser that the players have been training the house down after a heavy defeat and a losing streak. And let's not forget the new players need time to gel and that the pitches need to firm up before Salford can play better.
We just need Feka now to tip us to reach the playoffs and we'll be laughing.
No seriously, with this kind of major investment I'd imagine the books of false hope and excuses have been chucked away with the Neville the Devil costume.
Ask me where we may end up again in 2-3 years time and it genuinely concerns me, but for now I'll just enjoy the ride and hope the Doc is true to his word about sticking around.
