| Quote Red Preacher="Red Preacher"It could be just like the old days. The days when there was an atmosphere. The days when we realised we were crap but still made a point of out-singing the opposition fans. The days when I used to get my mates to come down to games with me with the confidence that they would return having had a cracking night... Not been able to do that for a long while.
I know considering the problems that exist at the club at the moment that such positivity may seem utterly inappropriate to many of you. But, the usual crew will continue to attend and endure games. We may as well bring some enjoyment back into it. And you never know, the players may recognise a change in atmosphere, and may even improve. We may, and I know this is a long shot at the moment, we may even win a game or two!
ARGH! I WANT TO ENJOY GOING TO SALFORD AGAIN.... ARGH....'"
Amen to that brother!

| Agree red preacher. Just made a similar(ish) post on another thread, the enjoyment of going the game is being lost and its not all about the team and how they are playing.

| Quote Red Preacher="Red Preacher"Aha. I knew it wasn't just me that was getting narked off. The said group, assuming you're talking about the large group of p1$$ heads stood near the front to half way up the shed, not too far from the left side of the dugout really do need to be dealt with. They really do spoil it for everybody else with their loutishness. Problem is, the players will tar us all with the same brush. A bunch of p1$$ed up morons who know s0d all about rugby league and are only there to behave like hooligans.
I genuinely believe, the better members of the shed should take action against these muppets. Now the last time I checked, mass-murder was illegal so, how about a collective shift down the shed? "The shed-reborn." It could be just like the old days. The days when there was an atmosphere. The days when we realised we were crap but still made a point of out-singing the opposition fans. The days when I used to get my mates to come down to games with me with the confidence that they would return having had a cracking night... Not been able to do that for a long while... Dunno how LukicJ has managed to stick with us.

Spot on, I'm in. As a side note can someone attending the FR meeting tonight please apologise to the players for some of these p!llocks? I think the players need to know that most of us will support through thick and thin and even though we may have gripes about playing personnel/the coach/tactics etc. we love the club and we will do anything we can to keep it alive. Let's be honest, how many of us are old enough to have ever seen a decent Salford team? In 20 years I've never known us turn on players so quickly. As you point out the shed was once rocking regardless and god forbid even away fans used to join us in there for a bit of banter (and the odd scuffle! ).
Viva la revolution!!!

| Well I'm glad of the current response on this and the other thread. Hopefully a few more decent shedites will be as equally as enthused at the prospect of a move in order to reignite the enjoyment of the days of old.
If so, I'll put the word out as a seperate thread prior to the next home game.
Ha, do you remember the days when we'd be 20-30 points behind yet going absolutely barmy in the shed much to the complete bamboozlement of the opposition fans... They clearly thought we were on something...

| I really, really hopw this does take off. I might even consider returning to the Shed if it does. A move back to the good (sic) old days where the team were just as bad, if not worse, but we as fans were a damned sight better. The days that saw the birth of "Alan Hunte is a rugby genius" and other classics such as "We're 5hlt but we're beating you"?!
I got hooked on RL because of the experience, the enjoyment, the passion, ..... certainly NOT the quality! I'm not old enough to have seen anything better than defeating Wigan's 'inbeatables' in the cup, top half SL finish under Andy Greg, CC semi final against Sheffield, NL1 and NR Cup success and playoffs under Rhino.
I could've taken mates and family members to any game during that time and, althought we'd invariably get beaten, they'e enjoy the experience. Several of my mates and family are now big die-hards than me, all because I dragged them down to a game and they got hooked - again, on the experience, NOT the quality of the rugby. There's no way I could do that anymore.
I know we have lots of fans who only do home games, quite understandably but, at the moment, I'm seriously considering going to away matches because I'm sick to the back teeth of the 'atmosphere' at the Willows.

It really is a shame that we have to consider such a move. It'd be a fair point to suggest that we stand our ground. The problem is, the club aren't going to get rid of this ever growing section of the shed. I doubt very much they can afford to. So with that in mind, standing our ground will only serve to make us all more miserable. A shift down the shed appears to be the only possible way of reigniting that passion we were famous for and loved.
I for one can't stand the idea that these morons are forcing me away from my usual standing point but that annoyance comes no where near to my frustration of not enjoying the shed anymore... No matter what the scoreline.

Yeah I remember them days. It was only a few years ago tbh. What I dont understand is why they act like muppets because I dont mind the occasional beer at the match but never act like they do, I dont get why pay 17 quid when they could do all this in a dodgy holts pub. Does anyone think its since the beer stand has been put up?
Oh and I'm in, need to spread the word and get there abit earlier than usual though

Exactly my thinking on all points. I'll continue to see if this idea has consensus support and then spread the word based on that.

| The club can obviously help in this too, remember in the buffer days when they used to randomly pump out the viking tune, or when we'd play saints n they'd play brookside theme tune or "calm down". Little things that used to get it started. its a fine line tho, dont want any kind of drum coming in no way!!
