Quote king of the shed="king of the shed"I'm sorry have I missed something here, did Simms actually tell the press anything regarding Wrigley or did he answer the questions that were asked by a journalist? Could the said journo not have got his information from another source, maybe one down under, an agent shall we say?
Journo: "There's a rumour that your client Kurt Wrigley is on Salford's wish, list is this true?"
Agent: "Yeah we've been in contact with them and they will be coming over next week to speak to him and I've told him to have a chat with them"
A week later;
Journo: "Hi is there and updates regarding Kurt and the Salford job as I believe the club officials are on their way over to Oz as we speak"
Agent: "Yeah mate, Kurt doesn't want the job; we've spoken about certain other opportunities for him but he'll speak with them anyway"
Journo: "Steve I believe Wrigley has turned the Salford job down"
Simms: "Wrigley is now no longer a contender for the position we have."
"I've spoken with him, I've also had talks with his agent and it's clear he does not want to be considered for a job with us."
"Souths were happy for him to speak with us - they would not have stood in his way had an opportunity to become a head coach in Super League with Salford been offered to him but he will stay where he is."
"That's fine by us, we know where we stand and we've said all along we want someone who is fully prepared and totally committed to fulfilling the role of a head coach."
I read over and over what was printed in the press and I can honestly say I don't see what your issue is (bearing in mind the fact you don’t support Salford as well!). As a very passionate Salford fan I find nothing wrong with what’s been said, I know of many players reported in the press being linked with another club only for them to turn the contract down, why is this any different? We'll just move on a hopefully get a coach that wants to be at the club and wants to be successful with us.
In fact does anyone else have an issue with it?'"
You are ahead. previously we have had imagined conversations between wrigley and maguire. Now you have three imaginary participants.

Well done. Perhaps someone can go for 4 or 5 pretend conversations?
I am sure Simms would be delighted that some salford supporters are okay with his bumbling ineptitude.
If the rumours about gentle being the new head coach are true then things should certainly improve at salford, as long as he has the freedom to make decisions.
Gentle has been a very capable 3rd string coach at West. He has had the opportunity to work with a master in Sheens.
Would expect a prompt overhaul of your conditioning and a much tougher regime for players. Wests have had Foulkes in charge of conditioning and he is very capable.
Would also expect your assistants to be moved on unless they have longish contracts.
I hope they give the guy at least 4 years to get things on a solid footing.
