The increased salary cap in Aus is going to cripple super league if we are not careful. They are snapping up any half decent talent this country has to offer and what's left will see clubs here fighting over them. Now more than ever in this country we will need a great youth structure in place to nurture our own as quite simply until we see the salary cap in this country altered, we don't stand a chance of landing or retaining the worlds best.

I don't know how you fix this problem.
The NRL is far more successful and so has far more money. It will attract the worlds best players and,apart from money,has a better sporting environment .
It would be impossible to persuade them that their cap is bad for the British game ,any more than we would if the situation was reversed.
Raising the cap here would cause many clubs to dig holes for themselves.
The Doctor says that we should raise the cap but he also says he won't be a sugar daddy,so we'd have to pay our way which is frightening when you think about it. We didn't under Wilkinson,who bankrolled us,or under Snape who did the same.
Raising the cap a bit wouldn't make that much difference.
No idea what the answer is,but tinkering wont work.

The cap needs raising it's as simple as that, but what chance do clubs have of attracting additional commercial revenue when the actual competition hasn't even got a main sponsor. The sport hasn't progressed in years and whilst we'll never thrive like the NRL we should be competiting with the Union lot over here.

Ps - I don't think they are snapping up any half decent talent, all the players that go over there genuinely quality players that would get in all starting 17's in Super League.

Watched the KR v Saints game and Christ would I love the Doc to go for Paterson as he is devastating and I've said for a while also that I'd love us to try and get Eden too, when you see some of his attacking play the class is there for all to see and for me more than compensates for his occasional brain fart.
