Got to agree.
What’s happened to Owen is he injured? Maybe he hasn’t been performing in training who knows? but I feel for Owen as he’s done a cracking job at hooker this season Howarth has had a dip in form recently and his defence has been poor at times so if anyone had to be dropped I would of opted for Howarth. Having said that what gives Godwin the god given right to come into the team and steal anyone’s place?
If he has been dropped just because Wagga has become available then what message does this send out to our youngsters? Like I say I don’t know why he’s been left out maybe there is a reason but for me on the outside he’s been our best hooker this season.

| I'd have Owen instead of Howarth. Nothing against Howarth as I think he's done a good job just think Wagga is a better more experienced hooker & Owen is quicker from dummy half and attacks like a poor mans Roby and tackles well above his weight.

Well you may enjoy it a bit more now that there's some shelter, which by all accounts will be needed!

| Nothing wrong with a bit of rotation with the young ones.
Its a big step up so he probably needs a rest, rather than a full seasons battering.
Would like to see Snyed getting a bit more of a run out.

| Was hoping Owen had just been rested after Hudds on Good Friday, with Hull KR on the following Monday, but it appears after his first average performance since breaking into the team he has been dropped. Same old story with Salford and young players.

Granted Owen is a better hooker than Howarth but you could see Howarth covering several positions across the field. I know we got beat but thought Neal run the ball in pretty well against Hull KR over Easter too.
Would hate to see Owen being the next really talented youngester move along but you can see it if he isn't going to get into the squad, see him having a really big future so it's pretty important we keep hold of him for me.

| I thought Howarth was a Loose Forward or Stand Off by trade. For me he is to big for the hooking role, despite him doing a brilliant job thus far this season. Where as Owen's natural position is hooker. Why not try Howarth at 13, shift Wild to the second row and have Owen as interchange hooker with Wagga.
The reason for my thoughts is having watched Cas V Fev at the weekend. I thought Darryl Clarke looked ace at times with a natural ability to play hooker and Ian Millward has shown his faith in him this year and given him the 9 shirt. The phrase "If your good enough then your old enough" springs to mind.
Owen has been superb for me this season and has done nothing wrong. It was his vision that earned us a penalty and got us the victory against Hull at home. (Taking nothing away from DJ's conversion) He defends really well considering his size and has got great pace from dummy half and has scored some brilliant try’s
Nothing against Wagga but im sort of annoyed he can just walk back in to the starting 13. I know he gives 100% when on the field. IMO he looked well off the pace against KR.

| Would it be foolish to have faith in the coaching staff ?
I have no problem with experience in the hooking role against a side with 2 experienced hookers in their squad;and if Stu Howarth wants to prove a point against a former club, then I welcome it.
We are not halfway through the season yet and there is plenty of time for Gareth Owen to continue impressing.
2 very important games ahead and a very important month of May to come.

| Wagga hasn't just walked in, he was fit to play against Leeds and got put in 20's did he sulk??? No looks like he's trained hard and worked his way back in. Owen looks a good young prospect, and from what I have read on the forum people fear if he doesn't get game time we are going to lose him to another team but over the past few seasons hot prospects hav'nt left for this reason it's because they want to move to a bigger team and earn more money!!!

| Anybody else notice the amendment from the original 19 man squad? In most media Williams has been removed for Sneyd

mmm well spotted that, I'm actually getting a little worried about Williams, he'll have already missed 5 games (out of 12) by missing tomorrow, is he a little injury prone?

| Nothing really to do with tomorrow's game but I'd like to see Sneyd converted to full back and see Smith sign a new contract. Think he would be able to play there and we'd still ab the trio that we have now plus a better goal kicker. Maybe spend the Patten money on a top quality prop instead. Just a thought.
