Michael Carter enquired about BJB earlier in the season, when it became known that he wasn't enjoying himself at Salford but he wasn't interested in signing for Wakefield. Not the money they were offering anyway, he's on a good salary here. Common sense will hopefully prevail and Cas agree to sell us Justin Carney, in exchange for BJB.

It makes you wonder why our Leeds based players don't relocate to Salford, for the week at least. It's only 45 minutes down the M62, so they're not a million miles away from home and saving on a 2 hour journey in the morning would make it more than worthwhile.

Given the issues we've had with morale and team spirit, does nobody else think it just might be a bad idea to sign Carney? Put it this way, if a relationship between two individuals starts with an affair, how long until the same mistake repeats itself?

With the need for unity inside the squad critical to progression next season, it's thanks but no thanks for me. Despite Carney having more impressive strengths on the field, I'd rather went with Monaghan. Just my opinion of course.

Had a very interesting conversation yesterday with a guy I play golf with, he has just come back from holiday with a Salford player and a players agent. He wouldn't divulge names but says that a couple of the people still being chased are very much team players but also crowd pleasers, he also mentioned who the expected new captain will be and I doubt any of us would moan of begrudge him the role.

I didn't ask the names as I wouldn't have been told, but I know who the agent is and he has close links to the club. Captain is going to be Tommy Lee, not a world beater but turns up, does himself and the club proud and from my experiences away from the club is a great ambassador and really decent guy.
