Why was he so keen to leave though? What is the problem at the club that is making him unhappy and willing to drop down a division?

Says who? I find it highly doubtful, when you consider following the Saints game Gareth Hock was told not to bother turning up for training.
Mid eights wont be interesting at all, all the current Super League teams will remain in Super League. |

Makes me laugh that people are trying to figure out what Hocks thought process is to drop down a division.
I think there are much better qualified people with long black couches who couldn't figure Hock out.
Deeply flawed, brilliant but deeply flawed.

His thought process is simple, he has no choice. When he was transfer requested at the back end of last season, nobody was interested. It forced to come back to Salford with his tail between his legs. This time around he knows the Championship is his only possible move and Leigh is conveniently located for him. They'll also no doubt pay him a handsome wage too.
I just had a look on the Leigh board and they cant wait to sign 'another world class' player apparently.  |

I can't say I dislike Leigh as a club and I think Paul Rowley has done a decent job. However, I am starting to feel a little nauseated by the amount of smoke that is being blown up people's ar$e$ there at the moment. |

Hocks wages will be £10k+ pm and Leigh - with Moi Moi and a few other high earners must be near the SC limit.
Just wondering who is going to pay Hocks wages.  |
