| Nice one Stef lad and richly deserved* After being shuffled around the park this season, he's never complained about not being stand off, waited his chance and took it brilliantly.
Salford Red All Over pulled him to one side after the Celtic away NRC Semi and told him he was going to be a special player, now I've got to admit at the time I thought it was just the ale talking but boy was he right.

| Firstly, not many players deserve a call up to the England squad that Stefan.
Secondly I can only echo people's thoughts on Tony Smith re the Richie Myler scenario. It has happened to us twice now, both times with at the time our best players (i.e Coley/Noble & Myler/Smith). What happened to the concept of a full time England coach? Smith should have been given the ultimatum of Warrington or England. It might sound pathetic to others, but to Salford fans it is a plausable thought that Smith could use his position to his and Warringtons advantage.
It's a great position to be in if you're associated with Warrington, but a worrying one for supporters of other teams when their best players are called up for honours.

| Combining the job of club coach and national coach leaves whoever is doing the job open to accusations of this kind. Same as Referees who take charge of home town teams games who have to make close calls in their home town teams favour. Im not sure Smith has undue influence on players he picks for England who then move to his club but when it happens then human nature takes over and suspicions are aroused. Im not sure its the best idea to have a club coach do the national job too but then again it is Rugby League we are talking about

| Well done to Ratchford if the rumours are true.
As for the comments about Myler, I'm sure if the club felt there was an issue they could put a complaint in.
The fact is that Smith selected Myler before he was manager at Warrington, and let's be honest, if Warrington decided they wanted Myler, with the cash we were prepared to offer he would come either way. He hasn't joined because Smith is our manager.
Salford, and Myler will do very well financially out of this deal.

I don't think any Salford fan would begrudge Myler going to Warrington for a bigger contract and the possibility of winning things. It was the fact he was approached half way through the season and we lost an in-form player from that point because Myler's head was elsewhere. If Warrington had made an approach as they should at the end of the season I think Salford fans would view it differently!
It’s a question of moral code and I think both Myler's agent Offiah and the Warrington board showed a distinct lack of respect for our club by unsettling the player to benefit themselves.
As for a complaint ..what would that achieve apart from a hand spank and dragging our game through the mud in the media?

Warrington will not have been able to formally approach Myler without Salford's permission. I don't see any reason for them to do that either, as they will have always been prepared to offer big money, and Salford will always have been prepared to take big money.
McRae made some points about this (which you seem to quote), but unfortunately that is sport. Plenty of players are aware they are leaving clubs at the end of the year, and played on. For me that was a weakness for both Myler and McRae.

| Firstly well done Stefan. Great news and well deserved.
Secondly, what happened with Myler no one will ever know for certain although I like all of you have my theory. But The RFL cannot let this situation persist. When Smith got the job he resigned from Leeds. After the world cup debacle he realised that this job could be under threat and took the Warrington job thus putting him in a position that can be abused. The only way to stop this specualtion is to have full time England coach.
