When you go to Wigan and see everyone in a top, especially 80 yr old women who should know better then that is sad.
Same applies to Warrington and a host of other clubs.
I am from a time when you were regarded as a kn0b head for wearing replica tops be it football or RL so have never done it.
I am also glad it appears we are not at the Wigan or Warrington stage at Salford even though replica tops are given away for free.

I've no problem with frivolous behaviour. But why does that have to involve dressing up? I'm not a teenager, either, I'm creeping ever closer to 30, although that probably still seems young to you.



You don't need to dress up to have fun, you don't need to wear replica shirts to support your team. But again, each to their own as Prestwich Red says.

I`ve decided I`m going to be very excited.

No-one said you had to dress up GT but why can't others without people having a go. I take it you would go to a fancy dress party as Clarke kent or one of the Blues brothers so that you could wear a suit.

Where has the shed gone ? was looking around on fri and just seems the atmosphere has dissapeared. No bring on the salford at the start no chanting through the game take me home willow road or I see the salford reds are rising.

The Shed was dire last week but there are far too many "factions" in there these days. I stand right in the middle and there are some right kn0bheads in & around me (Fat Geordie, Weasel Boy & that Vicky Pollard gobe who has ranting last week to name but a few

). I'd rather not join in any chant started by any of those and I'm guessing a lot of fellow fans feel the same.

Seems like a lot of the passionate fans on this forum stand in different places around the ground (understandable if you've got kids etc). For me The Shed should still be one of the most intimidating stands in RL. IMO, I think the atmosphere has suffered since away speccies stopped coming into The Shed. When I started watching Solly back in the early 90's I loved the games against Leeds especially because it felt we were outnumbered about 3 to 1 even in "our" stand. Yes there was the odd scuffle but both sets of fans were trying to outdo each other with the singing which made the atmosphere great. Now you're lucky if you get half a dozen away speccies in there who tend to move at half-time because they get threatened by some scrote who thinks they're ten-men.

Now Stains at home is as big as they come and if we can't as fans get up for this one then we should hang our heads in shame. If it all goes t1ts up after 5 minutes and it looks like we're going to get a real hiding then that's even more reason to get behind the team. Let's show the rest of Super League that we are the best and most loyal fans in RL and get behind the boys 100%, win or lose.

So I can't have a go at people who dress up yet you can have a go at the rest of us for "bottling it"? And as for having a pop, I was merely pointing out the stupidity of claiming people had "bottled it." It was a ridiculous notion, let's be honest.

A fancy dress party is a slightly different proposition, although I'm not keen on them, either. Just put me in a room full of booze, that'll do.

I quite agree. At our age now is the time to behave as we want to (so long as no one gets hurt etc). You get past the stage of caring what others think and just enjoy life.

To be fair the moaning has worked as it has resulted in a much needed stadium update and special offers on saints tickets for season ticket holders. So it can be useful sometimes.

My wife has got these type of offers for every game.
I have also got them and I am a season ticket holder

I have invites for free but I have two season tickets and before i got the invites I also got an email from Malc which meant i could buy two tickets for £10 each to bring a guest so from two season tickets i am hoping to bring 8 people. confused I am.

Anyway, this topic seems to have drifted somewhat.

It also seems that most of you agree with my points to varying degrees so on that basis I vote we have a bloody good time on Friday and you know what, maybe we might even win! In that case, let the goonage commence...
