London is a difficult situaton they need to be a success story to build up a profile in the capital but unforunately they have had some reaily bad years and have struggled.

I reaily think dropping down a divison for a few seasons with more chance of producing a winning culture amongst the club and its fans would be the way to go it would also allow them to blood their kids and come back stronger in a few years

And for the majority of the 33 years london have been given special dispensation time and time again countless extra funding by benefactors brought in by the RFL. Theyve had some really great players over the years with a few high table finishes and even with all that they fail to do anything when getting people interested in the game in London. now lets look at Salford in the same time no where near as much money pumped into the club when compared to London, constantly yo yoing between the first division and the 2nd division constant low finishes and batterings year on year and you wonder why Salford's crowds have been so low? What's Londons excuse? Please enlighten me Red John.

its reaily bad that the RFL has pumped a lot of money in over the years but i surpose they hoped that the extra cash would have turned them into a mid / top table side on a consistant basis but in reality success comes in cycles and it seems london are at the bottom at the moment.

think a spell in the NFP or what ever its call win some cups build a bit of history will be the best thing for london and rugby league in general

If I remember correctly its only once we've had help by the RFL London have been fed by a silver spoon.

How sure are you about this? Is this based on the whole of the south of England compared to Salford or the whole of Greater Manchester?

This thread has certainly gone off topic since it was started in September - and no more signings have been announced.
London have never finished bottom of Super League - for those with selective amnesia,some other club did that this year;neither is there any record of any assistance from the RFL to a London club unlike Crusaders and Bradford (and Leigh,amongst others.)
With current flavour of the month Mr Lenagan,Branson and Hughes funding the club it would also seem unlikely.They are all successful,rich,business people,although Mr Lenagan,despite his protest about the RFL and sponsorship,did have a shirt sponsor,Applicado,which failed to finish the season at Wigan.
The change of home,and jumping into bed with a well-known union club,has been the undoing for London.Just as the one change of home was the almost permanent undoing of Salford.

I think if DJ did come back he'd need to take a pay cut and realise he would be 3rd in the halves pecking order and TBH I think Theos a much better stand in for Smith and Chase.

Would like to see DJ go to a decent side and see how good he really is, always looked good when he was the big fish at Salford but do wonder if he has the talent we all thought he did.
