| Quote theredshed="theredshed"Stephen Wild thought to have one more year in him by Huddersfield last year, you are having a laugh. Wild was 29 when he signed and he's been for me and many others our best player this year. There is only 4 players in Superleague who have made more tackles than Wild this year. Maybe he didn't fit in with the future plans at the Giants but he's been a great signing for us.
Adrian Morley is 34 and in the form of his life. Nearly half the Warrington squad are over 30 and they seem to be doing very well. And what about Keith Senior still playing Superleague at 35 until his recent injury? Yet we sign a 29 year old and he's too old. You obviously have some kind of a grudge against our club or somebody at our club.
'"
So are you familiar with Wild's wrist / arm problems that have plagued him for a good few years? I suspect not. Warrington and Leeds have deep squads and are 2 of the best clubs re conditioning and sports medicine. for example hodgson has been left out a few times to rest him - something that a smart coach woud do with Wild.
Wild was excellent for the Giants and i have little doubt he will do a decent job for another year. But 2012 and 13, I doubt it. While he has always been a high tackler his missed tackles rate has rocketed this season. SW is being run into the ground whie crocks like bailey and anderson have given you nothing.I am glad SW has big money through 2013
I am focussing on facts so the need to create fictional grudges is pointless. If simms has done a good job for you, you are easily pleased.

Just out of interest (Assuming you are involved with the Giants as you say you are) why are you so interested in Simms and Salford Reds?

where did i say that? Don't make stuff up.
Always liked salford. As a kid my dad was a mate of dai watkins so I saw a lot of games at the willows and the players seemed like stars to me. I also think JW is a real gentleman - like ken Davy - and deserves a bit of success.
I think Simms is 3rd rate and a real block on Salford's progress. The Wrigley announcement was unprofessional and i have seen nothing to suggest SS is doing a good job as Director of football. A good 'would be coach' will want to know about staff, sport science, youth development and playing personnel. Has SS laid quality foundations for a new coach?

| Quote Ceebeejames="Ceebeejames"You clearly know nothing about a Director of Football role.'"
There is no definition for the role. For example, from a public perspective a 'director of football' at a football club is largely anonymous compared to the manager, who is the main man (with a few exceptions where said incumbent has aspirations for the manager's job e.g. Gerard Houllier & Avram Grant). While in rugby union the 'director of football' is usually [ithe[/i main man: the manager or head coach equivalent. There's no doubt that although these roles have the same title, they have different remits.
As far as criticising Simms is concerned, you have to consider what it is he does.
If he is responsible for elements of recruiting players, coaches and what not, then yes, he is set up for scrutiny — whether it be from the media, the fans and the board. However, if he is effectively a go-between for the board, its eyes and ears on the football department, its day-to-day media mouthpiece/face, then he's more beyond reproach. Because if the board, who invest their own cash into the business, trusts him to carry out this job (bearing in mind [itrust[/i is a hard commodity to find) then he is likely to stay in the role regardless of what happens. Criticism would then more likely have to lie on the head coach and the chairman. Not particularly my view of course, but something you have to consider.

Interesting that Simms has been at the club years in a 'senior post' and yet his role is shrouded in mystery!

Are you ex playing staff or another former employee?
I'LL SPELL IT OUT LOUD AND CLEAR FOR ONE LAST TIME FOR YOU IF YOUR STRUGGLING TO GET IT THROUGH BUT WITHOUT WILKY THERE WOULD BE SALFORD IN SUPER LEAGUE, NO NEW STADIUM GETTING BUILT AND MORE THAN LIKELY NO SALFORD RLFC AT ALL.
If none of that means anything to you then I'd suggest your not the Salford fan you think you are or poprot to be.'"

the club who were only two weeks ago, giving out new contract's to players, when the new coach mite not want them
only for Simms to rightly change his mind.the only chance we have got,Is to get a coach who no's what he is doing
then for Tarry Simms and the rest of the board,to get out of his way. Tarry gave an interview, listen to it and you will
see why we are in the mess we are

Well as you point out my spelling isn't the best but then again being profoundly dyslexic I think I'm allowed the odd slip up. The spelling mistakes aside (though I think might or mite and no's or know's are easier to spell than purport)I think I make more vaild points than you do and don't chose to hide behind an internet forum to obviosuly snipe at a club and organisation you have an axe to grind.
As others have said the club is run on the tightest shoe string and without a massive cash injection for backroom staff, better training and sundries we will always struggle regaurdless of who we put out on the field. That is why myself and other fair minded fans are willing to see what change of fortune the new stadium gives us before we begin to slag officials at the club off.
