Never saw that coming. Think Salford probably turned up thinking it would be easy (so did I) and Cas just stuck to a simple game plan that suited the 17 they were able to field. The clash of heads probably ended your hopes as Sa'u was looking like your most dangerous player.

Gutless. and totally devoid of any enthusiasm. The game of Rugby League demands a never say die attitude and enthusiasm to fight for every cause, only one team has shown these desired traits this afternoon, our tactless aptitude or attention to detail was Amateurish again. The defensive line was, well, fragile at best, three men tackling got penetrated immeasurably, when they should be out colliding the lone runner. Dobson, I'm sure, was playing for Castleford today, gifting them with multiple errors. And Vidot looks so unfit, he's not far off Junior Langi status. I know it's his first game but what kind of fitness regime has he not been doing. Just goes to show how having the right attitude will bring you victory 99.9% of the time, I honestly thought we'd turned the corner this year, however, the recent televised fixtures evidently confirm, it's the same old Salford I'm afraid. Gutless.

Agree, accept about vidot. He was pushed to play when unfit due to Griffin. But today was in my opinion, standard salford fare. Thought we had a chance this year. Maybe one day i'll learn. Gutted

I did not think we would win today.But I expected us to turn up. I have been to Cas many times over the years,watching Salford.Today their was a time for reflection for the late great Roger Milward.I will tell you this,their was not a player from both sides today that was good enough to wash is kit.

It's like groundhog day at the minute. Our games follow one of two patterns. We either blow teams away first half and get reeled in (sometimes holing on, sometimes not) or we have games like today where we turn up half d making silly errors, indisciplined and unable to complete or defend a set of 6. Very frustrating.

Absolute dog anyone who has a positive to make out of that needs to have a long hard look at themselves.
The only thing that shower played for is a week off !! ffs Cas were in intensive care playing roster wise playing against a full strength Salford side, I won't mention missing a hooker as we don't have one as Mcshane proved. Some of Salfords players were embarrassing beyond belief.

Lets wait till the pitches firm up eh ?

Ow well only three more years before we celebrate half a century since we last seen Wembley.

It certainly wasn't a full strength Salford team and apart from the half backs the Cas team was stronger than most are saying. But we should have won that game. Cas played brilliantly considering they had no half backs. they showed how to get past that - run hard, off load, tackle hard.
Our defence was beyond bad. We had slightly more position than them first half but they made 150m more than us. I reckon most of that was after the collision. How many times did we have 3 men in the tackle but didn't stop them or get them down. We will never win anything defending like this
In attack we were clueless. Dobson had his worst game for us I think. He's been so good recently but was error ridden today. Carney, Sau and BMM were the only ones who looked bothered going forward. O'Brien tried hard but Cas shut him down really well. I think only twice did the Dobsob-Lui-O'Brien link work
