| Have to say I've been very disappointed with Tim Smith. At the re-launch, he was the player I thought may have been the best bit of business - the on-field organiser to complement Chase's off the cuff play. As it turned out, he has never settled, has made far too many basic school-boy errors and has not once looked like taking any game by the scruff of the neck. Letting him go back to one of our fellow 'relegation threatened' rivals is possibly the best we could have hoped for (cue him garnering MoM awards for them as they resurrect their season...)
Good luck to him, nevertheless.

| Don't understand this one bit. Problem for me is Chase, I think we have relied too much on one individual too much to the point I bet smith is thinking why the fook am I here? I concede he has been poor and gone is that lethal kicking game that ripped us apart so many times in the past, but I can't help but feel with Chase in the side whoever comes in isn't going to get a proper look in.

Quota space, or do you mean salary cap space?'"
Both, but specifically quota spot (assuming Tim Smith was classed as a quota player).

| Quote FearTheVee="FearTheVee"If I was a player or coach I'd think long and hard about joining Salford under the Doc based on how he's approached his ownership this year.
Hopefully a few lessons are being learned along the way but I worry this will all end in tears.
I genuinely want Salford to flourish by the way - the more big, healthy clubs the better.'"
It seems players and coaches think long and hard about joining Salford and then join (Kevin Locke, BJB confirmed, Michael Dobson strongly rumoured, Gil Dudson and Darrell Goulding less strongly rumoured).
The way he's approached his ownership this year is to not accept failure. We (RL as a whole and Salford specifically) have a long and proud tradition of aiming low. Sometimes we miss, sometimes we hit, but we've always aimed low. Marwan doesn't aim low. Sometimes he misses, sometimes he hits, but he doesn't aim low. I know which one I'd rather have, and maybe that's what attracts people to the club (and upsets opposition fans so much).

True. Whoever comes in (Dobson or Sneyd) needs to be, at one and the same time, a leader and someone who'll play second fiddle to Rangi. It's a difficult one, but if we can find the right combination we'll get more out of Rangi.

I think whoever will be partnering Chase next year will have to have a top all round kicking game because this is one of Rangi's weaknesses for me. Either Dobson or Sneyd are more than capable. Sneyd edges it on the goal kicking where Dobson I feel would edge it on organising the team.

I think Meli was also expensive mistake, scored a few tries I agree but his defence is woeful and on a big salary...

Scored more trys then any other Salford player.
11 players have missed more tackles then him.
