Does our current situation remind you of Wakefield's, prior to their club being taken over? Wakefield lost all their best players and went into administration, before the new owners came in. Bradford seem to have got away with it because they abused the good nature of the RFL fans, but there seems to be a trend that struggling clubs don't change ownership until they've hit the skids.

What I find sadly predictable is the lack of comments on this board about the impending new investment.

It's almost as if people wanted the club to stay as it is so they can peddle their bile about Wilky being culpable in the clubs downfall for not ploughing enough money into the club.

Wonder if the club turns it's fortunes round on the pitch if the same people who spew forth this bile return to watching the club and find someone new to hold a personal crusade against.

Can't speak for everyone, but I've had hopes built up too many times in the past only for them to either be a false dawn or for them to just peter out like a damp paarpp.

The investments been talked about for a long while now and I just hope it happens. As long as the investors understand that any kind of return of investment is probably long term and is dependent on the product on the pitch both in terms of entertainment and success I'll be happy!

I'd say most of us are waiting for any announcement and to see what actually happens before passing any comment, rather than the usual endless debates about conjecture and hearsay. As said above, the talk of investment has gone on for that long that, until it does actually happen, it's just another in the long line of rumours and promises to most people.

We shall see.

This forum really could do with a 50 page thread about potential new investment we have no real information on. Then again it might be part of the anti-Wilky agenda you mention.

Think you can tell that the people who Wilky brought in to do the overhaul/consultancy are still having an influence, would rather it be done properly rather than being done in a half d Salfordesque manner.

or rather the clubs finances were in such a mess ;-tied up with additional RFL loans , Salford Council loans , it's has taken longer to unravel and settle to the new investors satisfaction , that it had to be ratified by the RFL indicates a change of management /or how close we got to going under.

looks to me like Salford Council / Peelhave stepped in to safeguard the prime tenant of SCS , and similar to Bradford assurances we'd still be in superleague will have been discussed as part of that investment .

- 'Peel' investment mangement to be in charge of the daily running of the club
- these steps had to be sanctioned by the RFL in order for the Club to participate in SL 2013
- Wilkinson to step down and take the figurehead title Club President
- no official recruitment until all talks have been concluded ( in line with purported ban by RFL on recruitment )
- 8 of the senior squad to be promoted from the junior teams ( minimum club trained required by SL surely )
