| I feel more saddened every week - the club is imploding. Too many wrong decisions being made in every area of the club. Sickening.......

| Even after 2 bottles of wine that performance still is in my mind.
$hite sums it up.
Lets play the McRae way.
1/Pass straight a long a line, make no yards.
2/Pass to forwards who are static when they receive the ball
3/Run straight in to the markers at every opportunity
4/Flair or skill is not allowed
5/Kick straight to the full back or in to touch at every opportunity.
Enough is enough, if JW can not see what is happening then he is blind.
Fook the fact we cant afford to get rid of the turd, we cant afford not to.
Alker and Simms also out.
Alan Hunt as Coach and Robbie Paul as assistant could they honestly do any worse.

| McRae has to go. It is said the club cannot afford to sack him. I say they cannot afford not to sack him. By the end of the season, if not before, there will be no one watching and with poor gates, low revenue streams etc you can forget a franchise.
From where I stand in the Shed, towards the North Stand end of the ground, there are already many faces in the crowd, familiar over the years, absent.
I have said on several posts that the club has gone backwards since McRae came in. We were poor in the National League, it was only full time status that saw us through. The style of rugby throughout his reign has been dire and there are no signs of it improving. We are never going to win a game with one man rugby, when we concede a minumum sixty yards over six tackles because we don't move up in defence and so have to start on our line very set. Then because we are so slow at the play the balls and players get the ball standing we are lucky to get out of the forty before a kick and back the opposition come again. It has gone on every week. Mcrae often highlights this lack of field position but has he changed or done anything to rectify things. Again tonight we saw a side who upped it against us , tweaked things at half time and we had no response. Catalans were missing both their first choice half backs!
The players are making mistakes but their morale looks shot. There is clearly no confidence, co-ordination or method in anything they do. I thought it was hard of the Shed to have a go at the players tonight. There are players out there fit to wear the shirt. They are just in a badly coached team. Stefan Ratchford is a case in point. He was prefered to Myler by us all last season and yet he now looks a pale shadow of the player who caused a buzz everytime he got the ball.
There is not one crumb of comfort to be taken from tonight at all. I cannot see how we are going to get a win.
I started the thread by mentioning disappearing faces in the Shed. I fear mine may soon be one, which hurts as I have followed Salford since first seeing them as a 9 year old in 1973. (What must the greats of that side think?) I am rapidly losing the faith.

| The point is that if we finish bottom without a win and with gates of 2,000 there is obviously no demand for RL here. As it seems 1 x NL club is GUARANTEED to enter the next Franchise then clubs will look no further than the weakest link and that would spell the end for our club - Stadium or No Stadium.
JAW has a huge decision to make in the next week. Can he come to an amicable settlement and find 2 new likely lads who will play thekind of RL we all want them to play or does he stick with SM and see the gradual decline in standards. I'm fairly sure that SM will not walk away without a decent Golden Handshake.

| ALL TIME LOW LAST NIGHT
No Skill
No Flair
No Idea
No Team
No Aggression
NO Motivation
No Passion
No Game Plan
No Ambition
No Crowd
[iI dont know what the quick fix answer is I only wish I did.
At the start of this season I was expecting and hoping for a change out on the paddock some skill, flair and most of all attacking play.
Thats's not happened and sadly I can't for the life of me see where our first win is going to come from now.
No more away games for me this season attending home fixtures is going to be hard enough.
[/i
KEEP THE FAITH - THAT'S NOT GOING TO WASH THIS SEASON

| I've watched Salford since the early 70's so have witnessed this scenario many times. What saddens me is the fact that having finished in the top 6 twice during the Super league era that the club has never capitalised on this and really progressed and yet the likes of Hull KR, Huddersfield, Castleford and Wakefield have.
In this day and age I really can't understand why the club doesn't have a substantial retail site. Surely there are some ex pats who would possibly like to purchase merchandise. The gates on a Friday night are in decline. (Don't Friday nights kinda defeat the object of summer rugby?). I could never understand why they don't play on a Sunday afternoon. If they clash with football, why not move the KO and show the football on a big screen in the club? I see little or no promotion of any Salford game outside the boundary of Salford. Come on guys, if an ice hockey team can attract 10,000 for a game surely we can do better than 3000 and generate much needed income.

Friday nights were brought in as this seemed to suit the corporate lot better.
However since Trish left I have not seen a lot of that at the club now.
Sundays would suit a lot of people and away fans will be intersting to see the crowd on the Sunday games we have this year (that is if there are any of us left)
I live in Prestwich and even here there is no promotion of the club, even though there is supposed to be a Salford Academy set up.
JW needs to get his head out of the sand and get somethinhg done quick.

| just been to the gym and all the team was in there. They all seemed happy and together so at least team spirit is ok. One thing i did notice though was everyone was there and just about to start, guess who turned up late? our assistant coach malc, showing a good example.

| In 2007 Hudds lost their first 7 matches and ended up in the playoffs. I'm trying hard to find positives and thats the only one I can come up with

| Ive actually posted this on another thread but think its relevent here:
I think some people have short memories - whilst Im not sayin our coach is doing well at the moment, we used to regularly get stuffed by 50 or 60 in the super league days under john harvey, andy greg, even karl harrison. At least thats not happened too often recently
I dont know why some people expect us to win the league with the the smallest playing budget in the league.
Also, I heard so many people on the stands last night , saying the players were not fit to wear the shirt etc etc......maybe they are trying 100%, but are just not good enough? In which case.......no matter how hard we try....we battling a losing cause...and bringing in a new coach would not help if the players just dont have the quality
SO many people on this thread saying 'the players look short on confidence...blah blah blah'...are you surprised? 2 out of 3 home games this year theyve been boo'ed off!!! I suspect certain 'fans' are knocking the young lads confidence more so than our coach.
By all means, boo off the coach,.....show him your nto happy.....but the players appear to be trying...even though they may not be good enough....at least show them were behind them and we WANT them to do well....give them an incentive
when we used to get stuffed....the players still got clapped off......dont know whats happened to a lot of salford fans since those days...last night though (as much as i was totally gutted about the pefroamce) I was more gutted we didnt get behind the lads as they left the field looking totally dejected.

ha ha. You're clutching at straws with this one.
Rd 1 H St Helens 10-18
2 A Bradford 14-18
3 H Hull KR 10-17
4 A Leeds 12-16
5 H Hull 12-16
6 A Catalans 22-23
7 H Salford 16-18
I think it was more a case of being shafted by the computer.
