| Quote: Singapore Steeps "I am confident that we will go back to Cas with an improved offer. We were just testing the water.
It reminds me of a story a wise man once told me about when he propositioned a lady.
He asked the lady whether she'd sleep with him for a million pounds.
She thought long and hard and said that she would.
He then asked her to sleep with him for a tenner.
She said "what kind of a girl do you think I am?"
He says, we've already established that. We're just negotiating on price.'"
Dangerous game.....
Rumors are that 2 other 'wise men' are sniffing around the woman and are willing to pay much more than a tenner.
Let the bidding war start

Are you sure it's only two others? Five or six would sound much better!!

| DOES Mr CHASE REALLY WANT TO LEAVE CASTLEFORD TIGERS ?
IF he does then he should request a transfer and I'm sure that would speed things up.
It would still cost a lot to bring Rangi Chase to Salford which ever road to the club decides to go down.
In my opinion Castleford are clutching at straws and holding on to see just how much they can get for the lad...
But if Mr Chase decides to stay with the Tigers good luck to him we will just have to go out and buy another top class half-back...

| Hull FC are back in the race. I can see him getting a lift to the KC with his mate Westy. We might get a better deal from Dr Pearson and I think Chase would be have a better change of winning some silverware with them.

Let Hull have him then? But i wouldnt think their would be much room on their salary cap since they brought in Holdsworth, and Gareth Ellis, Salford are rumoured to be offering Chase 250000 a year, we can donthat as we haw near enough a blank canvas but Hull have git sone highky paid players to offload first if they want to go back in for Rangi, don't get me wrong he's a good player but not the be all and end all. There's other top class half backs in Australia that we could go for.

| If you think you'll get a "Top Class" half back from the NRL. Your deluded. They're all signing mega contracts due to Salary cap increase.

If you think about it the public statement yesterday by Cas about rejecting the offer is to simply see if it generates interest from elsewhere. Tell me another reason why they would do this? There isn't one.
It appears Cas have only one interested party but would ideally want another club or two in the mix to push up the price. Let's face it Cas are in no immediate rush so they will hold out for as long as they have to.
If we don't get him it's not the end of the world because I'd have thought for the kind of money we are talking (with a transfer fee) we could bring over a top quality half from the NRL. Big golden hello for the player and £250K a year on the salary cap. If I was the Doc I'd put a time limit on any offer for Chase, allowing us to move on to plan B. Who knows the club may be already doing that?

| There should be some decent half backs playing in the World Cup.
I wonder if Matt Parish puts any in our direction rlSamoa Head Coachrl

| My interest is waning in everything Chase related.
Wish they would get on with it or drop it, if only to stop the tirade of sub-normals coming on here with their intimate knowledge of everything Cas. Judging by the levels of knowledge, intimate business savvy, and downright brilliance. The Cas board seem to have missed a trick by not noticing the four thousand or so world-class CEO's right under their noses.
It'll be worth not getting him so that they just go back to their holes.

Not sure how the contract system works in RL but in Football if a player asks for a transfer then he forfeits his rights to the remaining terms of his contract. If a club sells a contracted player who did not request a transfer then they have to pay him the remaining terms of his contract.
This could be a real stumbling block for the Cas board if Chase hasnt asked for a transfer.

Let's hope RED LEAGUE makes a post soon confirming that he's signing tomorrow. This way we will know for sure any deal is dead in the water and we can all move on.

THIS,
Chase is undoubtedly a talented player , but this protracted soap opera is taking what gloss there would have been over a successful outcome .
After the assett stripping that went on at Salford last season and before I find no enjoyment is doing likewise. rather we spend the sums rumoured finding the next Dobson / Dunneman, or dare I say on the development & academy.
