| Quote: John Gilbert Reds "I was told this weekend, apparently TP has been informed that he doesn't feature in Harris' plans and therefore wont be considered for selection.
Poor handling of a model professional who has had a great career in RL and deserves to be treated better. At this stage of the season, most clubs are fixed up and I assume TP will have to wait until either injury for example forces another club to look for a replacement etc.
The worst part of all this is the Kiwi contingent of our squad are a very close knit group and I have genuine concerns how the poor handling of both Locke and Puletua will affect the likes of Chase, Tasi and Sa'u.
Not good.'"
If this is all the coach doing then i'm fine with this. I just hope this isn't MK's input as this will not do the morale of the squad any good. There is a lot negativity around the place at the moment.
Pity about TP as i think he looked pretty good back end of the year last season.
Still at the end of the day it's all rumours as nothing has come from MK or the club

| So two games into the new season and already we are talking about two of our big players leaving, great.

Yes it's the last thing we wanted. What this club desperately needs is a period of progress and stability. Unfortunately it's one thing after another but surely it has to improve at some point.

For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row

Didn't Catalan do something similar with Pryce and another player whose name escapes me last year, and it worked for them.

Yeah agree with the above. Plus, with Marwan not respecting players and coaches contracts, how would you expect the players to feel

| I am surprised we are all surprised about the locke situation, I posted on here after the Swinton game that he had a long term injury, it was quite clear after about 30 minutes of the friendly with Swinton he limped down the tunnel to be the only player not to return. Remember Swinton hardly tested us?
We have had him since last summer & the only game I can recall was the first game at Huddersfield, duedilance springs to mind with Locke?

| I can't believe people want to bring in Greg Bird for Gareth Hock.
Why do you think Hock is leaving us in the first place?

| I could never understand why the New Zealand Warriors signed Tomkins and let Locke go, in my eyes at the time Locke was one of the most exiting full backs in the world, better than Tomkins, IMO.
It looks like SRD have found the reason the N Z warriors let him go

| Having read today's Manchester Evening News article I feel the Doc's comments gives Locke a clear message his boss isn't happy. Quotes - Show what you have, reputations count for nothing, fight for a place and then he talks up young Evalds potential. Do you think this is justified considering Locke's current injury? or could it be the club are suspicious that the injury is fictitious and a possible attempt to get an early release?

Hang on a minute.
I've not heard that he's failing to honour contracts.
If he's paying them,he doesn't need to play them.
If he's paying them off, then it's an agreed settlement.
The contract is a financial deal, not a commitment to play someone who's not performing.
Are you suggesting that coming to a settlement with Hock, and check his Twitter account in which he's saying good things about the doctors wife,is disrespectful ?
He pays them well, and falls out when they let him down but that's not the same as disrespecting contracts.
Unless I've missed something.

Yes and it's a very strong warning to all employees at this club. Fail to do the job and let the club down and you will be out on your ar$e. Reputations or contracts count for nothing, it's good performance and results that the Doc and us supporters want to see.
Salford Red Devils isn't a retirement home, charity, or somewhere to have a laugh, these guys are being paid big money now to deliver the goods.

According to what I read in the press. Quite a few people had/or threaten to go to court for their full contract payments after being sacked/ or forced out, and not accepting a percentage severance payment

I suppose a lot will depend on what their agents push for and we all know they'll probably want the biggest possible pay off, if not the full amount.
