| We've being the Peel and Council? No doubt it's an issue now, with the proposed infrastructure and retail plans it should be much better in a couple of years time.

| I dont think the ground is in the middle of nowhere. Less than 2 miles away is the Trafford Centre, one of the countries most popular shopping centres.
A winning side will attract crowds, everyone wants to watch a successful team. How have Man Utd managed to go from 55k to almost 80k week in week out? By winning.

| Quote: Walshovski "
We have got more chance of attracting back lapsed fans who got tired of the grinding years of misery than of attracting completely new people who have not previously shown any interest in rugby league.
Fair weather fans may well disappear again if things turn sour but if we give them a couple of years of success we can quickly build up our hardcore from 3k to 5k. More so, how do we go about finding these completely new people to make sure cheap tickets only reach the right hands?
In reality the lines are a lot more blurred in terms of deciding who is a new fan and who is lapsed and any cheap tickets etc is just tinkering round the edges. We saw at the start of the year that when things looked rosy people start finding reasons to come as opposed to find reasons to stay away. The same will happen at the start of next year you'd hope but we need to sustain it.'"
For getting cheap tickets into the right hands, I think you could use existing season ticket holders. Allow each season ticket holder to bring someone to one or maybe two games for, say, a fiver. Obviously, some muppets will abuse it and bring along someone who would have come anyway, but they can then spend the rest of the weekend feeling really good about how they've put one over on the club they claim to support, but others will use it to introduce newbies. A couple of my former fellow wage slaves have expressed an interest in trying out a match, but the cost (and our general crapness over the past few years) has always been a bit of a problem.

| Sorry if I come across being negative. The club has announced kids go free with a paying adult. Smacks of last ditch promotional work to get more in. We've not had a home game for what seems a long time, why not put this offer on after the Bradford game. Seems very last minute and desperate attempt to get the crowd up.

Do we still do the family ticket of 2 adults and 2 kids for £40? This makes it effectively kids go free every week. Although you are right that they do seem to leave things til the last minute. Every time they wait til the day before the game to announce things such as shuttle bus times and any pre match entertainment. Things like this should be announced at the start of the week.

| Think they still do the 2 for £40. I bought a family ST this year so havent used it, but I know they did it at the start of the season. You have to ask for them though, they dont offer at the ticket office.
Great value but again, not advertised. They could claim that kids go free every week if they wanted. At least the East Stand would fill up a little.
Missed opportunity in my eyes.

| Martin Vickers has tweeted :-
a) The Clubs marketing always a good topic for discussion! Well in the run up to this game..been to every school in the City, thats 100+
b) Contacted the 7000 fans who have bought class of 92 tickets, issued 5000 invites to homes across the City, and so much more!
c) Add to that we haven't had a home game for a month, we do need a real strong push for tickets and the same goes for the Old Faithful!

What's a class of 92 ticket?
Tell you what if we knock them and they do what he's intimated then fair play too them, that's some serious leg work for one game.
Just a little baffling that it isn't being played Friday night or earlier on Saturday when I'm led to believe that there is some football being played somewhere.
Is the long gap between home games down to the re laying of the pitch?

| What I cant understand and trying to keep on the topic, is why would Marwan want to look at building a "new home" for Swinton when we are playing our rugby at lets be honest, a crap ground with zero atmosphere due to the fact the standing section is packed in behind the sticks, that is mostly inaccessible and utterly inadequate? We pay for the privilege of playing at this venue, surely its time for the doc to look at building a proper home. This would bring the fans back and get passing customers

I agree. We had loads of offers at the start of the season, however no one knew how to order them as they were unavailable online and no one answered the various phone numbers that were provided. At least they have whittled it down to one phone number now which is actually answered so that is an improvement.
It was pleasantly surprising to see a leaflet advertising the Hull game included with the class of 92 tickets. Hope there has been a decent take up on this.
It's also good to see us going around the schools however it's virtually impossible for groups of mates of high school age to attend together due to the lack of transport issues. Will hopefully get a few convincing their parents to take them but it's a shame we don't/can't attract groups of young uns who can have a day out with their mates and have a bit of a laugh/balloon/sing song etc.

I think this would be a great idea. I think Wigan do something similar for their Season Ticket holders. If the club did that and maybe targetted two games a season where the vouchers were valid. This would create a large gate for two games and what an atmosphere it would be for any new prospective fans.

| Maybe not looking too promising - tweet to & from Martin Vickers
I still think it beggars belief that Peel own both the airfield and the stadium yet couldn't get their act together in coordinating activities between the two resulting in this late fixture change - barking mad!

Someone once explained why this isn't what you do (can't remember who it was). If you put offers on too early, you give people time to forget or to find something else to do on the day (remember, if the tickets are free, the recipients aren't losing anything by not going). So, you put offers on in the week leading up to the game to try to ensure a better take up.
