| Quote Adamjk="Adamjk"Would make no sense both in terms of playing personnel and from the financial side of things.
We've already blatantly lost Myler. Do you honestly believe that we would simply release a player who signed a 2 year contract last year with the option of a 3rd year, a hugely promising one and one whom we would get decent money from should he move on, simply because he liked the sound of the place. The club wouldn't deserve a place in Super League making decisions like that.'"
I feel for you i really do, i can't count the amount of world class players we have lost because they have asked to be released. Gaz Ellis, Benny Westwood & David Solomona for 3 in the last 5 years! You can't keep a player that want's to go elsewhere. If his heart isnt in it he won't perform.
Better off letting go and using the cap space to replace.
You can't really consider Salford to Wakefield a "side-step" though can you. Recent years tables and competition levels show he would be is moving to a better class of team, with a better class of personnel.
If a player asks to be released what would you do?

| this hopefully is a terrible joke, but both players i am sure could well be in trouble tomorro when they meet up with the squad
who needs a rumour mill when players say it themselves, with out a press release i thnik there is some big trouble around the corner for both jordan and stef
the lack of ability to keep hold of promising young players, players that should be the backbone of a team for years to come has got me very concerned
i will still be there in the national leagues but i will have each person who is responsible's head in my front room

It is a complete sidewards step. If anything almost backwards. This can't be happening.

2009 30/07/
7 Wakefield 22 22
13 Salford 21 12
2008
Wakefield finished 8th 22pts
CC semi apperance
Salford not in SL
2007
Wakefield finished 8th 23pts
Salford finished 12th with 13pts
We outstrip you in every position except 6, coaching and player personnel. Crowds have been down but things aren't easy in households across the country too. And i can honestly say we have one of if not the best youth systems in the country. Look at the academy results, they don't lie!

| Be realistic here. They have more chance of getting a stadium in the near future. Which will transform the club. Wakefield don't have more of a chance of winning a trophy than Salford. It would be pointless.

If I had to put money on Wakey or Salford to win something it would be Wakey by some way, no disrespect to Salford.
We are fighting it out for the top 8 where as Salford are no where near it and we will be doing the same next season.
On grounds I don't know where Salford are but Wakey are advancing now

You aren't likely to win anything anytime soon and if a player is going to move on they are going to at least go somewhere that would benefit them as a player.
Someone as young and as talented as Ratchford would not up sticks and move to go anywhere other than a team that is in for silverware on a regular basis i.e. finals.
In that repspect going to Wakefield would be a COMPLETE side step at the moment.

| but to be fair, it hasnt really been denied yet?, either on here or on the wakey board.
which i must admit in this silly period of the year is a bit surprising.
dont get me wrong i doont believe it but i hope its true, but im not gloating or saying its a sideways backwards or forwards move, just a sign of the time sadly that clubs are losing players, especially young ones to clubs they view as equals as they strive to free up cap space.

| i cant say it would be a backwards step, and salford are struggling, but...
READING INTO WHAT 'JORDAN' HAS PUT, WE WILL MISS YOU, YOU WILL LEAVE A BIG GAP IN THE TEAM...
THIS TO ME SOUNDS AS IF HE WILL OR PLANS TO STILL BE HERE NEXT YEAR OTHERWISE HE WOULDNT BE BOTHERED ABOUT HIM LEAVING A BIG GAP
I CAN SEE IT TOMMORO, OUR FACEBOOK PROFILES MUST OF BEEN HACKED, WERE STAYING PUT!!!

| So he may aswell only go to Saints or Leeds.
Moving clubs, no matter where you move to is often what you need to take you to the next step.
It's a step up, not a big one but still a step up all the same
