Just checked with the Bookies - Leigh are 100/1 for the Cup and Salford are 16/1 - so maybe we should turn up after all.

That's because they are assuming that we get Leeds in the Final!

Seriously though, Salford must be significant favourites next Saturday. (there's obviously a reason they are currently so high in SL - it's certainly not a fluke) Yet the magic of the Cup, what little there's left of it in the Challenge Cup, suggests that an upset just may be possible.

Here's to a great game, and a big crowd, which would also buck Challenge Cup trends.

My bias and with the current team stature (SL, form and squad) I sway to Salford but on the day being at Leigh could go either way as weve found out previously.

Just hope the players put on a show and both sets of fans behave themselves.

I would think Salford will edge this one 5 tries to 3 or 6 to 4 maybe.
As a Leigh fan, of course I would love a home win, but being realistic it is doubtful.

Hopefully the team can show the wider Rugby family just how far they have come & just how good they are, thereby maybe attracting new sponsors or increased sponsorship for future seasons.

I hope the TV coverage doesn't affect the attendance to much & that many of you get down here to boost the atmosphere. With any luck we could see 6 to 7,000 on for this one, more likely 5 to 6k.

I agree. They've had one and a bit good seasons and you'd think they had been worldbeaters for years. Their arrogance and boastfulness knows no bounds.

Fev fans didn't behave like that when they were by far the best team in the Championship for 4 or 5 years.

There's absolutely no way Leigh can win this one. Salford will win this game by more than 30 points because your position in SL dictates that you're at least that much better than Leigh. If you win by less than 30 points I reckon most of you will be embarrassed - I know I would be.

Being embarrassed is a very typical part of the Salford fan's kit, it sits with being depressed, being let down, being upset, and being stressed. Also found is the feeling we are not glory hunters, on being able to ignore which team is fashionable, and knowing we are true fans who do not need a drum or fawning from the media.

Totally right mate. In fact, if Salford don't win by more than 30 then Leigh should get a bye to the final, we should be thrown out of Superleague, all of Lowry's paintings should be burnt in a massive bonfire and Mark E Smith should be publicly flogged outside Captain Cod on Eccles Old Road.

Its a lose, lose for Salford whatever the result of this one. Win and everyone will say we should have won anyway, scrape through and people will congratulate Leigh and slate Salford and god forbid should we lose we'll be the laughing stock of Super League.
