| Having thought this through I think the club should just cut their losses and terminate Hock's contract with immediate effect. If this club is going to get anywhere it needs to be professional and do what is right for the business. I just can't see him ever changing and I could see it happening again and again.
How can the club possibly market him as a sporting icon and what kind of message does it give? Furthermore let's not forget Hock wanted away at the end of last year until he realised no other club wanted him or could afford his contract. There was no loyalty shown from the player so why should the club show him any?
To miss 25 games through suspension since 2011 is ridiculous and as far as I'm concerned enough is enough. It would be a shame for the lad but in business you sometimes need to show a ruthless streak and make some tough decisions to be successful. It would be interesting to know what Tim Sheen's thoughts are on the matter?

| I sometimes wonder how many players would be available to play for their clubs had they'd been under the same scrutiny as Hock?
He has pleaded guilty and has received a strong ban and a £ 600 fine. The club now has a duty of care to help him through the 7 weeks he cannot play.
We have no shortage of forwards in the squad who should be looking to get their chance and make a positive impact if selected.

| Is our resident immigration expert Cas fan not around and offering free unsolicited legal advice?
I wait with bated breath his take on this, then fully expect the opposite to transpire.

Does he have a lisp too?

| I agree with all of the above. Cut our losses, terminate his contract and just pay the lad what he is due. We were all naïve enough to think he could change and become a genuine asset to our team, but he’s just been true the words of every Wigan, Widnes and countless of other supporters who all told us he was a liability.
If anyone watched the first 20 minutes of the Saints game, he was our best player. Such a waste of the fantastic talent he has.

| To miss 25 games since his 18 month drugs ban ended in 2011 is unacceptable. Off the top of my head 13 of them for us. Plus he has been thrown out of the England squad for going out on the sauce. I was all for keeping him when he decided to stay, but not now. Time to get rid and free up some space on the cap. All the talent in the world, but there’s something missing up top. He doesn’t know how lucky he is, he owes the sport of Rugby League a hell of a lot because without it he’d either be dead or at her majesty's pleasure.

| Whether getting rid and terminating a contract would free up cap space is, I think, a bit tricky in the way the salary cap rules work.
If this were to happen I suspect m'learned friends would be soon making some dosh!

| I'm not defending Hock, but he's been a bit unlucky with the game being on TV
Referee Bn Thaler took an age looking at the big screen replays before sin binning him
If it hadn't been on TV ?
It really proves the point that All games should have the big screen now, especially if the Refs can now refer to them

| Last year we won I think 7 of the last 9 games. It is significant that these were won without Hock. Penalty count improved which gave the team more possession?

He's guilty as charged.
A 6 game ban is ridiculous.
What he did is indefensible but 6 matches is daft. He's an easy target'"
If he is guilty as charged, and what he did was indefensible (your words) why are you trying to defend him, as you say 6 matches is daft it should have been more.
As for your embarrassing last sentence the only easy target was the unfortunate players who had already had 2 players laying on them when your hero decided to kneel on their heads risking fractures to the cheekbone or the jaw

has that ever happened ? someone breaking someones skull or fracturing a Jaw by "kneeling on them" Ive been watching and playing the game for an awful long time and while its not nice Ive never seen an injury from it...?
look it was a cowards act ..the act of an idiot, the act of someone who has issues already and has got frustrated his team are garbage. I'm glad he plays for a rival and not us, as he is clearly a liability.
however what the Referees are missing is a bigger concern for me than Gaz hock being a tit. the first knee wasn't nice because it was actually on the nose and that could have ended up bust. The second was nothing more than minor contact on the top of the head. (former Referee now co-commentator cummings said "Face" I rest my case on Referees)
In another Televised game I saw Justin Carney attack a flying Morgan Escare's face with a swinging arm (that has been proven time and time again to break noses eye sockets and jaws) and he got off with a simple penalty. This just highlights the fact that While everyone wants to see the public hanging of gareth Hock they are missing the real nasty stuff....
Why did Darryl Griffin not get done for the swinging arm to Masoes face which was the reason he was on the floor holding his face in the first place.... not because of Hocks knee.
setting some dangerous precedents by ignoring the dangerous stuff and pandering to the pantomime stuff.

| Anyone else fear for the bloke once he leaves the game of RL? Just what will he do with his life, without professional RL.
You would hope those close to the bloke (particularly his agent – who surely owes his Client a ‘duty of care’) will do their upmost to get Hock whatever professional help it is he needs (probably a very good sports psychologist) before it’s all too late. With the amount of games he’s missed over the years, he could go on to play beyond his years but not if he continues with this ridiculous behaviour.

| There are always players who get highlighted for what they do , Hock is in the list along wth people lilke Terry Newton , Barrie McDermott going back as far as Kurt Sorenson. As with football now everything is magnified due to TV so players need to adapt or he's always going to get banned when doing stupid things which may or may not have been picked up in the past.
On the other hand , having Walne x 2 ,Heuraki , HH , Sanderson plus a few others may off set the loss a little although how long you can keep a player who gets banned for 14 games out of the last 16 is questionnable , especially when he comands such a large portion of the salary cap
