| Lokks like Nobby is a fan of Fages.
Taken from the Reds website;
[i"His view is undoubtedly supported by the fact that one of the few standout players, last weekend, was young Theo Fages, whom Brian described as outstanding. "[/i

That can be taken both ways then can't it King of the shed? If people are slating Foran for the appearance at Warrington (can't comment as only 3rd game I missed this season) Noble was impressed with him at the weekend. Also they are not direct quotes just some dribble written but David Clegg in which I find most of his pieces mundane to read

It's a fair assumption that you may be mistaken on your reading of the abilities of certain players. Seeing as nearly everyone in RL is singing his praises. That's opposition fans, coaches, and players. So I'm to disregard their, and my opinion, based on the only person who thinks otherwise? You don't have to be Wayne Bennett to see that. Everyone else sees it except you.
As for putting up a pick of my bio, what was that in aid of? The description under 'occupation' and 'interests' refers to the character who appears in my avatar, from the film Gangs of New York. So, not only do you make yourself look a tool by being the only one who who doesn't rate Theo (Wouldn't have something to do with your agenda with Shirl & the Club would it?) You also try hard and fail at a personal pop that's about as relevant and hurtful as warm cow turd.
You're not the only one laughing.

| Theo is still a kid, and like all kids will make mistakes, take wrong options etc. I am sure if there were any able options he may well have been given a rest, and then brought back in, this is how most clubs treat young players. I respect anyone's opinion if it is given honestly and with no ulterior motive. However, I think I would rather listen to Sean Long, Alan Hunte, Brian Noble and even Terry O'Connor (last evening) who all see something special in young Theo.

Still out of his depth at this stage of his career for me, numerous tries have also been conceding from him missing tackles on his inside shoulder, for me it's recognizable that he is targeted in defence because he is weak and does not have the stature for it. '"
I suggest you avail yourself of the stats available for Theo - and Dobson and Chase -and when you then compare and contrast you may change your opinion - unless of course neither Dobson or Chase are Super League standard.
To single out one player while not giving examples of these 'numerous tries' indicates an agenda or personal vendetta.
You should NOT be taken seriously.

| Think Theo is one of the most naturally gifted players I've seen for some time. Thought Myler looked similar but his progress seems to have stalled.
Don't think Theo should play every game as he is young and hasn't got the biggest frame so we need to protect him, you'd hope at some point the club will look to bulking him up slightly along possibly with Evalds.

| Would like to see one of Gaskell/Foran/Sneyd alongside Theo. Think we need a bit more direction/leadership at half back. Most of the kicking game seems to go through Sneyd at the moment, even though he is playing full back.
Foran seems to be the new scapegoat now Murphy has gone. Hopefully he will come good. Actually had a decent game at Warrington I thought.

| How out of the loop am I? I didn't even realise James had copped a one match ban
Following his performance for the majority of this season I think it's time for Wild to "take a break" personally I'd go with the following;
Sneyd
Broughton
Gibson
Gleeson
Evalds
Gaskell
Fages
Emmitt
Godwin
Griffin
Dixon
Ashurst
McGoldrick
Bench:
Foran
Walne
Mauro
Neal
Jeez that's a poor line-up when you look at it isn't it, even if we had Jewitt, McPherson, James and Williams available, it'd still look naff!

| I think Theo is outstanding and really like him but I'm worried he's going to become one of those players who's beyond criticism on here.

If it is correct & constructive criticism don't think there is any problem, but some of it appears vindictive what I've read.
Think as been posted he is 18 & still learning, think he will realise himself he has made mistakes & probably didn't expect to play as many games he has already

He's not beyond criticism, just doesn't deserve the fine scrutiny at this stage of his career/season in a ramshackle team. If he was at the peak of his career I would understand. The lads just started out, but I understand where you're coming from.

I agree 100%, hes done a brilliant job so far and i haven't noticed his apparent poor defence, which is a good thing. I can't wait to see him progress and turn into the quality half back we all know he'll become.
But i can already see him and Evalds becoming the new golden boys of the forum who can't put a foot wrong.

| Think what most reasoned people are saying & seeing is a very talented youngster who runs out behind a team most already know are beaten before kick off and still pulls his tripes out.
For someone of such tender years to be thrust into such a team as it's main creative player is hard, the fact that within minutes of his second SL start he was subjected to a vicious attack and yet he still comes back showing a fearless streak speaks volumes for his temperament.
Think you'll find that all truly great scrum halves make a hash of things from time to time as they play very much off the cuff rugby and you only have to look at Theo playing to know that off the cuff is very much his style.

I think it's more that people are seeing through someone who's clearly got a personal agenda around Theo and those who've looked after him in his time at the club.

Quote: Happy Red "His ,( Noble's ) view is undoubtedly supported by the fact that one of the few standout players, last weekend, was young Theo Fages, whom Brian described as outstanding. He also felt that Liam Foran, Darrel Griffin and Martin Gleeson contributed much to the game. With corresponding improvements from other members of the team, Brian feels that there is a great deal more that this squad of players can give.
'"
Better Add Noble to the list aswell as me .
Fages is by no means the finished article , and half backs make more errors as they handle the ball more often and try to make plays & breaks .
Try to imagine Fages in a year or two , behind a dominant pack with a few more game changers in the squad ..
