I personally think that MP said what he said to fire a rocket up the ar$e$ of the collective powers that be at the club and maybe even push them into backing him with a bit of extra cash for player. Think though MP has seen that you could throw the maximum cap money at Salford and you'd not get anything other than a few star players but no great sucsess and almost certainly it would be the same old same old behind the scenes.
If what I have been told today by someone I trust implicately is true then there is one very big signing who will be worth his weight in gold in column inches and bums on seats.

Doubt MP would cut and run until he's given it a full season and thus the chance to make a name for himself.

His comments in the match day program, & after the game, would suggest MP has taken the club/fans to heart. As we have with him.

Since he's quite an outspoken person I would suggest if there were any doubts in his mind, we'd all know about it by now. Here we have a man that could really take the club forward.

Or could it be he will be held back by the likes of tarry and you know who, I agree with you but wilky must back this guy to the hilt and bite the bullet and get rid,clear it out,the aparthy that seems to me that we have had for the past ,god knows how many years.We havent progressed on the field for yea rs since K.H. Off the field that in my eyes is worse,yeah we are moving to a new stadium, but thats it,its not ours,they cannot even tell us simply how much its going to cost us for a season ticket. I now will not buy a season ticket and just go to the games i want to,just cannot be doing with this bullcrap.

by the sound of it he has moved the club forward in the short time he has been here.
MP is a god send, i just hope the club and the players under him give him what he needs to make his role coaching salford city reds a success.

He hasn't taken the club forwards yet . He's just pulled the curtains back and the light has shone in on how weak the club really is with its onfield activities. for that and that alone some fans have taken to him , for being honest.
His decision is an easy one , quit now and he'll never get another chance of a top level coaching position in S.L. , or continue and with limited resources he may not take the club forward , get sacked and never get another chance of a top level coaching position ..

Lets cut the crap! I really like MP and think he is the man who can take us forward. But lets not forget, he walked into a job blind by all account, we are talking about a man who has never been out of Aus, i know for a fact he has put pressure on AH to produce more youngsters, don't think he understands the lure of football in this country. They don't grow on trees like they do in Aus! there is a lot of work to be done and i truly believe he is the man. KH was our last great coach and i think MP can really push us forward. He has to understand tho that we are a poor club! we have no money and he only has scraps to work off. but it will show the true mettle of the man! KH did it so it can be done!!I think the season ticket fiasco shows the bs that goes on behind the scenes!!

I'm not entirely convinced that MP is the man to get the job done, but he deserves the chance and he seems determined to make the club better. KMT is correct, MP clearly didn't fully understand the British game, but I'm sure he's got the idea by now.

In MPs favour: we've got a coach who, at least, knows the level of fitness required to play modern day Rugby League, he's got the full team back for the start of pre-season and Anderson started to play better. Unlike his predecessor, Parish at least gives the impression that he cares

Let's just be grateful McRae has gone and Alker has been replaced by a more creative mind!

A strong disciplinarian with vision , an assistant who poaching was not just off the pitch (i.e. a real half-back), and a very experienced assistant with excellent man management skills.

Sounds good, to me, to blind-side other coaches.
