Wow I've only just seen that Widnes result and it's a phenomenal one regardless of any injuries Leeds suffered. Maybe I'm being disrespectful/ignorant to Widnes but over the past few years I've never looked at their squad and thought "I'd love to see him in a Salford shirt" (the likes of Brown and Hanbury excepted of course!). That Leeds squad on Sunday was riddled with talent and any sort of a win is an achievement but to put 50 on them is some going and forget any potential issues with Leeds attitude (like Saints against us) or the pitch.... that's a hell of a result and Widnes deserve a lot of praise.

I'm hoping home advantage should swing it for us on Sunday but I'd imagine it'll be a better with both teams confident of a win after last weekend. We need to smash Brown (legally of course!) early and keep him quiet as he's a pain in the ar$e and always causes havoc against us!

Btw, anyone know what's going on with the Widnes forum on RL Fans? Doesn't seem to be in use these days.... being Scouse are they on some sort of LFC-esque protest?

It will be interesting to see who plays this week with Sau due back, i'd put him back in and play Jones in second row with Lannon missing out!

Is the Widnes result that phenomenal? Lets not forget they beat a much stronger Leeds on the iPitch last season too. I'm not wanting to take anything away from them, but this isn't a freak result.

I wouldn't drop Lannon either, the kid had a great game vs Saints and doesn't deserve to lose his place. Infact 1-17 the only player who does is probably Joseph. Nice problem to have, but someone is going to be disappointed on Sunday.

Whilst Lannon is undoubtedly a talent, shouldn't the club be nurturing his talent and not over exposing him as he's just starting out. Though he does look a great player in the making.

Team spots shoupd be based on performance which he has done well in. So yes he should be in the team until he has a poor run of form.

You have to give credit to Widnes on their great start and win against the rhinos, but as we've got the home team advantage I'm quietly confident of getting a result.

Looking at those first 5 fixtures many had us written off with a possible two points, but hopefully if we build on the Saints game and grab the two on Sunday were a lot better off than we all anticipated.

But this is rugby, we are Salford and anything can happen, so not getting too excited just yet.
