I always thought some steel magnet owned that football club? I had dealings with them a billion years ago. Though Christ corner the Indian market and the shirt sales might increase and can you imagine the balti pasties on sale.

Can anyone give me a concrete answer on what will happen to the funds currently being donated by the fans?

I'm not like some doubting the validity of peoples reasons for helping it just strikes me that if new owners/investors come in that FR could end up with a significant balance in the bank with no real plans for it?

Might be nice if FR took peoples comments (valid and sensible ones) on board.

Maybe nice to invest it in the weights that were mentioned earlier on last season for the youngsters to use somewhere on site? Personally I'd like to see it invested in some form in the youth set up as we proved last season we can produce some of the best so surely investment in that process by FR can only help.

FR are having a board meeting this week. I imagine it's on the agenda.

Maybe a full time coach in conjunction with the club for local schools. Get the kids interested in playing and watching for the future (I know, I know. What future)!

I think the people doing the fundraising are brilliant; my only worry is that there's still a danger that their good will/hard work will be taken advantage of.

I'm still dubious about this 'mystery investor' talk and will be until such a time when it's all confirmed ( too many false promises, I'm afraid).

In the meantime, I hope FR keep a tight hold of this money as we might need it if there's a doomsday scenario and it's left to the fans to start from scratch.

Once again, the money raised by the fans is not being held by Forever Reds, as there are Financial Restrictions on what FR can use money for. The money raised is being held in an account that is independent of FR and the club. At the appropriate time, ie when we are clear what is happening with our club, all options will be discussed, and the fans will decide what we do with any funds raised. Hope this clarifies, and will be discussed more fully at Thursdays meeting in the Fans Bar at the Stadium, 7.30pm.

Can you say who are the trustees/signatories to the rescue fund account ?
Also, if a new investor does come in with sufficient funding such that the rescue fund is no longer needed to pay off the WUP (which was the original purpose for that money) then if that account is NOT linked with Forever Reds what might be proposed as a mechanism for dealing with it?

Dr Marwan Koukash is now named in the MEN - racehorse owner.

The signatories to the account are Steve McCormick, Shirley Bradshaw and myself Bill Taylor. It was Steve who started the initiative on the evening of the John Wilkinson meeting in the Church. As none of us hold any position at the Rugby Club or are signatories to the Forever Reds funds, there are no financial conflicts.

The meeting on Thursday evening will explore more fully our options going forward. We do have a record of who have submitted cheques, cash and on line donations. Clearly money raised through bucket collections etc. is ad hoc and as such no records exist.

The options going forward are wide ranging, from refunds to discussions with new owners to ultimately help the club in a variety of ways. If the worst was to happen and no new investment is forthcoming, money raised could be used as a start up fund for a new club.

One thing I do know is that we fans are more galvanised now than any time since 2003 when FR was first formed. Hope this clarifies.

That would be the perfect medicine for the epidemic of longfaceitis on here. Who knows, perhaps a few thoroughbreds could be led into the Salford stable.
