Well that was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Whilst I wish not to pass comment on Hull, I must say hold on a minute with regards to the Salford comments. This city is genuinely on the up with many beautiful areas of note.
Granted, it has some pretty rank areas but even these have improved in recent years.

I believe Hull tabled a bid for Holdsworth a couple of years ago which prompted Salford to offer him an improved 3 year deal , then Patten signed and the club signed some more ' higher profile players ' ( for Salford ).

however the last two seasons have been the most bizzare i've ever experienced , and after these Holdsworth wanting out wouldn't be a huge surprise to me anyway.

given the depth of the amateur game in the East Riding i've always wondered why the Hull teams always seem to be looking outwards or overseas for half back talent?

It's also perverse that it's Bradford in Admin. but it is Salford who seem to be doing it's best to balance the books who are under constant rumour of losing it's players.

If he does go then thats us pretty much supplying half of SL with half backs in the past few years . and I think that says as much about the lack of talent in the other teams as much as it highlights our inability to retain players.

if DJ decides to leave then so be it. Personally I hope he does stay , but either way we need to move on , with or without him. We have a under 20s team joint top at present , so lets get them in the 1st team. Before anyone starts on when and if we should bring them in , I say there is no time like the present. Also I am a big fan of Sean Gleeson , he has made his bed for next year so he shouldnt be in the squad now. The team needs to move on in my opinion and start bringing these young guys in.
Whats happened to Gareth Owen this guy , in my opinion , should be starting every game for us. We need to start taking chances on the players who want to play for us before we lose them to other teams.

I just read there is no smoke without fire but if we are honest if this was the case hull fc will have every half decent player in superleague signed up next season. I dont know why but this season the Hull fans have got abit vocal and think that every player wants to play for them just because there new owner has spat a few lines out about that they will only sign qaulity, do you not realise that hes only saying it to make you happy, the only qaulity player you have signed so far is ellis and your still losing 2 qaulity second rows in tickle and manu.

i think he will go, this is just the same as the smith situation and look what happend there. he is 28 yrs old and i would not blame him if hull do offer him more money that he will take it.

with the likes of pattern going, smith gone, Holdsworth possibly going, feka going, are wage bill should be very small indeed. hopefully we will blood the under 20s more with a few additions which will benefit the team. shame we could not have had another year with pattern,smith,holdsworth, in the hope of a better pack we would have a very good team.

I usually take what Hull fans say about signings with a pinch of salt. They're the worst set of fans on these boards in terms of rumours and come up with hundreds and hundreds of pages of them year after year. Only Wigan seem to really come close with the sheer amount of tiresome talk about who they might be bringing in.

Saying that, it wouldn't surprise me now if Holdsworth is going. Seems to be too much talk about it for there to be nothing in it.
