At hull we had quality players like jason smith, richie barnett, swain, mcmenemy, unlike salford who had the odd individual who shone! we played the most entertaining rugby in years with bomber in charge, including a whipping of your own team
Mcrae will have nothing to do with the first tesm coaching, he will be pearsons advisor with his contacts in the game'"
My comments had disappeared
the only contacts McRae has are Baldy and Wiggy at Sky
he allowed Salford to become the most unfit team in SL, and drove out any up and coming good young players such as Jordan Turner (I wonder if he will move on again?)
Nothing to do with the players more about the coach, one game plan and no idea why it didn't work.

Ironic how McRae walks into a job at Hull while our previous coach who on the whole did a very impressive job does not appear to have any chance of a super league return even though hes made a huge success of the Batley job.

| Quote: The Mighty Fc "Aye we love bomber over here, good guy and we played some real class rugby with him in charge, also it sounds like he won't have much involvement in coaching, he will be more involved with bringing youth through (which hasn't happened for a little while) and advising our owner and will be heavily involved in signing and resigning players that our new coach wants. Leaving our new coach to focus solely on playing matters.'"
If you are leaving him with your youth they will stagnate get bored and leave like our 1st generation.
As for attractive rugby it was Jason smith if I remember correctly pulling the strings so I'd thank him and mcrae assistant @ the time for your style of rugby because SM style makes watching paint dry exciting

| Your spot on there "RSFT". I was thinking the exact same thing. Big Karl has done wonders at Batley, what a difference a decent coach can make.

I never mentioned a playoff spot, all I said was that we played some really good, entertaining rugby under Bomber.

| I think McRae summed it up about Salford - you want champagne Rugby on a lemonade budget!
He did well at Hull, brought players on, attracted good players and we played a great brand of rugby. As has been said, he wont be involved in coaching, Peter Gentle will be.

It's funny how every Hull support on here has harped on about how Hull played some there best rugby under the Slug when he Only achieved a 52% success rate of his 80+ games in charge. Half isn't brilliance by any stretch of the imagination.
Good luck. Rather you that us.

| Seems to me that the game changed, but McRae didn't. Tactics that might have worked about 8 years or so ago, won't be successful today and McRae didn't have a clue how to react to it.
