| A cracking piece of work by the club to get him in. Yes has had big problems off the field in the past but that was in the past and sure under MP he will keep him lime being a strict coach.

| A lot of people seem to forget that he walked out on his GB team mates when he was injured to come home when there was only one test left to play.
I hardley see that he will promote the team ethic, without doubt I think he could impart some wonderfull advise and attacking skills to our younger halves but I also worry what else he will be teaching them.

| I have read somewhere over the last couple of days that he regrets walking out on his GB teammates and accepts it wasn't a smart move
We are in the most part pretty clueless going forward so hopefully if he does come on board he can impart his widsom
Only time will tell, give him a chance

| We've moaned for years about the lack of direction when it comes to attacking play. We manage to get one of the countries greatest ever halves and attacking players and we find a reason to moan even more.
I'm more than happy to see Sean Long as a coach at Salford. I see him being taken on as a bit of a coup actually.
Well done the club if this is true.

Biggest load of tosh I’ve read and even tried to compare himself to George Best........in your dreams.......
Should fit in well at Salford.

| When I first heard of this my immediate reaction was negative, now I've had time to ponder over it I can see it being a real success. This appointment is just what the likes of Matty Smith and Mark Sneyd need in their development. For once my glass is half full on this one.

| I was rather perplexed when I heard about the announcement of Alker last year considering that Phil Vievers was a defensive coach at Wigan. At the time I wondered if the club had got the wrong balance of coaching staff with too much emphasis on defence compared to attack. I can only assume Long will be an attacking coach with the responsibility of improving both our general attack and kicking game.
Lets give him a chance I say!

| What have we to lose?
Think before responding... think of the season and the coaching record we have had up to April.

| We sign someone who has won the Lance Todd Trophy 3 times, has 4 Grand Final rings, has 5 Challenge Cup Final Winners Medals,2 World Club Challenge Winners Medals as an assistant coach and people moan about his private life.
Welcome Sean, lets hope you can pass on your winning mentality to the current and future squad.

| I'm more than prepared to welcome him, as people have said whatever he is he is a winner.
To be honest I'd rather him be pulling the shirt on than standing on the sideline.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

It's not his private life I'm bothered about, it's his professional conduct.
However, I'd be delighted to see him prove me wrong and as soon as he puts ours colours on, he's one of us so I'll support him to the hilt.
Welcome to the club Longy.

| I did my Level 3 RL Coaches Badge (In Salford funnily enough), and Sean Long was also on the course. He must have only been 17 or 18 at the time, but he impressed me with his awareness of the game, his helpful attitude towards others and his ideas on coaching methods. When I now think of the experience and achievements he has attained in the many years since that time, I am certain that he has all the attributes needed to become a top coach.
I for one am delighted that we have been able to give him the opportunity to start his caoching career at Salford. It could turn out to be a very shrewd investment.
