| Why won't koukash pay for it. After all said and done if any break into the first team its to his benefit. I thought these days had gone having a billionaire owner. I'm not saying i won't contribute but why can't Koukash contribute or fund it. just saying
Lots of clubs with rich owners have fundraising with the fans, Warrington are a prime example, they have Simon Moran a multi millionaire, but the fans support the academy.
Hull fc also have a fans group with input.
With Salford academy set up being downgraded they lost a large amount of funding, which Gaz will explain better than me on Wednesday evening.
If you can make it along on Wednesday it might be very interesting, also I'm sure Tim will have his say on it with him deciding to attend.

| On the one hand your owner wants to be able to spend more than the salary cap on big signings then on the other he allows a situation where the club need to go to supporters to raise money for young player development.
I'm struggling to understand the logic of this.

Your in dreamland if you think Leeds and Salford would merge that will never happen: |

I wonder if there's going to be some kind of meeting where someone attached to the club explains the reasoning behind it in greater detail.

| Does anybody know why he now wants us,when he first arrived it seemed he wanted nothing to do with Forever Reds.

| In all fairness to Marwan, he said a lot when he first arrived. He's now three years into his ownership and is much more experienced in the game and sport of RL than he was back in 2013. I think he has publically acknowledged mistakes he has made and fair play to the bloke for admitting them and working on putting them right. He could have continued like a lot of wealthy arrogant sports club owners, but it seems he has seen sense.
Any additional help that Forever Reds and the supporters can make to assisting the future generation of our club gets a thumbs up from me.

| The Fans and it's supporters groups have traditionally contributed to the reserve sides - academy or youth set up , whether it was the Turkey sponsoring players or kit & more recently the Forever reds society contributing to local area rugby .
It's not about whether Marwan has money .
I think it's as much about re-establishing link's between the club , it's fans & making them feel more part of the club .and it's future .
This is a natural part of the NRL club set up.

| Why should Marwan bankroll everything. It's good to get fans involved in the academy and keep a good bond with the local amateur teams.

| Over at Bradford the Supporters Trust funds the things over and above what the club can provide for the 16s and 19s. It’s easier to justify why fans should pay when the club isn’t able to afford it all. It’s a similar set up elsewhere.
When the owner is rich enough to fund it all (like yours) I think it’s harder to justify but not impossible. Perhaps stick to funding non-core equipment and activities or come up with something unique that no other youth set up has? Having a good close relationship with the head of youth development is key.
If you can get something up and running it is very rewarding for all concerned.

| Positive meeting re the Academy last night from Gaz Carvell, Tim, Russ, Mike & thanks to the Academy & 1st team players for attending, understand fans with youngsters the evening is not good with school next day, so looking at possibly having a get together pre/post game on Good Friday with Gaz to look how fans can help the Academy going forward.
Lot discussed re academy looking to see if we could get a sponsor or each of the lads sponsored for their kit.
Also, foundation & academy working together now aim to try & recruit from M60 area with future players made up of 75% local lads. Foundation go into all schools etc so ideal to work with academy to pick local talent up.

| [iSo what happens in 3-4 years time when the supporters have financed the youngsters when the likes of Terry O'Connor,Nathan McAvoy, Jordan Turner, Richie Myler, Stephan Ratchford, Mark Sneyd, Theo Fages come through and the inevitable sale happens. Does Koukash pocket the dough or will it be invested back into the youngsters.? Fair question as under the previous owner it would of found its way into his own back pocket.[/i

| An update on Gaz Carvell's request to support the Academy, who incidentally had a fantastic win at weekend.
There is already a Supporters Trust, Forever Reds, which has been dormant over the last 2/3 years, but due to Gaz's interest, fans are looking at resurrecting & rebranding the Trust, as it is an official body, to assist the Academy.
If anybody is interested in getting involved you will be more than welcome, & a new committee will be formed.
Still looking at having a get together after the Catalans game on Good Friday to discuss what we, as fans can do to help the Academy,
Please share the post

On the 9th day, Satan created Salford.
A battle ensued through to to late on the 12th day.
A few hours later, a truce, and on the final stroke of midnight, Code 13 was created...
Heaven and Hell combined forces and delivered Salford Red Devils...a legacy is born!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_71248.jpg |

Hi Shirl
Thanks for the update, I'm definitely up for being involved, however, due to location and other commitments, cannot be considered as a potential main committee member.
Won't be there on Good Friday as up in God's Country with the junior devils, but look forward to hearing more!!
