Yes, the RL Express are reporting that there is a meeting of RL Chairman today with the marquee signing being up for discussion as part of the agenda.

Doc just commented on twitter, it's been knocked back again. It's a blow because I heard we had a current Australian International forward already lined up. It suprises me as a 'so called' professional sport that we don't want more top class stars playing in our competition.

Disappointed but it will happen sooner rather than later. Short sightedness on behalf of those clubs who are voting against and until such changes happen we’ll continue to play second fiddle behind the NRL and Union.

Why? In what way?

If the Bulls/Broncos voted then their slips should have been classed as `spolied ballot paper`.

In a way that without such a change to the financial rules, we’ll continue to see the Super League ‘product’ weaken through losing its top talent and failing to attract big name Australians/Kiwis. I can imagine the Yorkshire clubs are dead against it, happy to sit in their pond of mediocrity with no regard for the future of the game.

If I remember rightly, Salford, Warrington, Wigan, Widnes and Leeds were all for it last time it was voted on. If we therefore take Bradford and London out of the equation, Koukash hasn’t got many more to convince. It will happen sooner rather than later.

I'm also disappointed that the vote has been knocked-back again, but to play Devil's advocate I can imagine we'd have been happy with the result of today's vote if we re-wound to the pre-Koukash era.

However, for the future development of Rugby League and it's potential fan base, I find the objection from a majority of SL clubs rather bizarre.

Im glad the proposal has been voted against. Would have been bad for the game if approved. Common sense has prevailed!

Not me I'm a fan of the sport as much as Salford and hate too see our best products head off to pastures new.

Also as a fan if we were still under the control of the old regime I'd still have loved seeing the likes of a Slater or Inglis playing at Barton.

We are in the entertainment industry and this vote prevents bringing headline grabbers into the sport in the UK & Europe.

It's about time Sky Sports put their foot down and demand the RFL enforce a change. They are paying millions a year for a product that could be considerably more entertaining but for a few self-ed individuals.

Democracy has prevailed so can't argue with the decision making process.
It retains a more level playing field between the haves and have nots.
It's a race to the bottom,though.
We progress at the pace of the slowest,which means we don't progress at all.
I sort of understand why they've voted against it but how can it not be shortsighted when it restricts the best talent coming in and also the spectacle itself

It doesn’t just restrict the best talent coming in, it restricts the ability to retain the home grown talent too.

I can fully understand why it was voted against by certain clubs. The decision making process for the majority will be based solely on their own financial position. Any negative impact on the growth and promotion of the sport as a whole is just an unfortunate consequence to them.

I would have thought that the increase in Sky income to clubs would have made this change possible.
