The only thing he could see was the pie shop.

Gower was the modern rangy 2nd rower before they were entirely fashionable. Good luck to him and I bet DBW is cscking himself icon_wink.gif

Wasn't Gower with us for the 2006 season? If so, it was Harrison who chose not to retain him.

I thought it was McRae who got rid of him when he took over in 2007? My memory is sh*t though.

Yeah it was McRae who chose not to keep him on for the '08 season.

This is the same McRae who didn't see Steff Ratchford as worthy of a steady starting role most of the time. Has there ever been anyone who stole a living more from Salford?

Shows what a good job I've done at blanking that 2007 season out of my mind - though come to think of it, I now seem to recall playing London/Quins away last game and the Salford fans having a banner saying "You've had your holiday, now we'll have ours" or similar, and chatting to Gower on the pitch after the game when he didn't know his future.

Now I might be wrong here but I think Salford made him an offer, and either he or his agent didn't get back to the club, so Salford ended up spending money set aside for him on someone else. I am sure that was the story David told us when we met him in Oz during the 2008 World Cup. He was actually working on a construction site at that time as well. So as much as I would like to blame all our ills on McRae I don't think it is entirely his fault.

The trouble in the Middle East, AIDS and Global Warming are all McRae's fault for being a icon_wink.gif

No, the same.

As on other threads, we only buy retired players who've done the best.

Aye, we let him go when he missed a game to fly over the Willows in a Tiger Moth.
