| It falls into catagories for me. A serious game memory is the last ten minutes of the Wigan cup game when it started to sink in just what we were about to achieve. A funny memory is Bobby Goulding running the length of the field to score then being hauled back for an infringement and a great fight ensuing after throwing a ball at Justin Brookers head,Sad memory Martin Offiah went the length of the pitch against Hull it was the last game i attended with my Uncle before he passed away.
What a day the last game will be.

| Time blurs my dates on this one, but I think it was the season we won the Championship, Premiership and Cup. 1990/91?
Being at the end of season presentations and all the Salford players and fans all sat down on the dance floor singing James' classic 'Sit Down' Everyone a little merry. Great Time.

| For me , all are great memories whether win ,lose or draw. Always enjoyed the banter , the atmosphere in the shed , my daughter as a 5 year old cheer leader , everything basically. Never a dull moment as a Salford fan i say like everyone , will miss the place but have to move on for , better things.
Looks like Catalans will be our final game there now , lets hope for a happy ending before the new start

| David Watkins match and the drop goal that never was.
From right in front of the shed,it was a punt but awarded as a drop goal.
Jackie Brennan and Stuart Whitehead were immense on his debut , protecting him.

| Mark Lee's testimonial. I realised when I got to the ground that I didn't have my specs on. So I stood in the pi$$ing rain for nearly 2 hours and couldn't see a thing.

| Whilst maybe not technically 'great' moments, are there any pictures anywhere of the Main Stand fire or aftermath and then being rebuilt?
Or of any of the other stands/ the club being constructed?

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| My early memories were our lot ( My mum, dad and they're friends) always being last of of the bar every home game with Nige and Ernie always having to kick us out!!
Always going into the players bar after the Variety centre had closed.
On the field it has to be beating Wigan in the cup and waking up the next morning to see ourselves in the willows on the breakfast news.
I always remember beating Keighley in the 1996 play off final at Old Trafford, when Budge fell from one tier of the Stretford End to the other after Scott Naylor crashed over, he somehow managed to climb back up to where we were sat. When we got back to the willows he was sat in the Tav with both feet up on stools turned out the legend had broken both his ankles and was off work for several months!!!

3596.jpg this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

| I used to love having the freedom of The Willows throughout my childhood, could go anywhere anytime, away team dressing room, home team dressing room, referees dressing room, tea room all under the shed. Loved just playing around behind the north stand and exploring the directors seats in the main stand. Running out onto the pitch before the cage was built and pretending I was playing, dropping a few drop goals and kicking conversions, diving over the try line under the sticks after running the length of the field pretending I'd ran around many a great legend thus scoring the winning try of the game! Pretending I was a turnstyle operator and messing around with the pedals to turn the turnstyles. Helping to clean the dressing rooms and hang the shirts on their pegs for the next game, used to love hanging Steve Nash's shirt up! The smell of linament every single day! Being given a chewy everyday off Len the kitman and chatting to Dai Moses about the previous weekends game.
On a sadder note of all the above was watching my mum scrub the dressing rooms clean after everygame, washing and ironing the kit for hours on end only to be paid such a measly pittance!
King of The Shed and Salfordredallover will know all too well of the above!
I can forget any game, score, player or anything else The Willows has given me on the playing side but I'll never forget my childhood memorys which are just for me and The Willows.

| Being on a skills course when I was 10/11 at The Willows for a week ... going in the gym which was/is beneath the Tavern, eating my lunch from the back row of the North Stand every week then training with the first team on the last day.
The look of surprise on the face of a certain Tavern bar man when he found out it was my 18th birthday, and realised he'd been serving me underage for the past five years.
