The likes of Mitie Mushythinking and Delirium Internal are convinced that their little fantasy world is correct: Mr H Potter will be there in a minute and save us from JW.

You cannot convince them for three reasons:
1. They are as logical as a chicken in a wood at night
2. You are mislead by emotional ties to JW (

3. They are very good at spending "someone's" money to allow them to continue their life: but not their own. I'm sure, allowing them to do as they and their Leigh-size supporters will, they'll put their homes on a second mortgage (or parents' rented home) to take over Salford; sack Simms and others (including us: why?) and lead us to success in Division 3.

STOP.

They need doggie training so until they learn to plop in private, I suggest we stop feeding the deluded, stop encouraging the puerile, and enjoy the fact that they cannot argue. By the way, that sentence ends "full stop".

I think I follow you. That was funny if nothing else. I've explained everything the best I can. I don't hate someone because they don't agree with me, but I do grow to dislike people when they can't follow logic and truth.. What needs to be understood is the fact that I would explain things exactly the same even if I didn't like JW, because these are the facts and that is how things are.

At the end of the day these people won't have any affect on JW at Salford. The man has the clubs best interests at heart and spends his own money on the club. He knows like we do should he stop along with the rest of the board the club would wind down and then he'd have some angry supports knocking at his door...

I take it the man himself has sent you to condescend my judgements and opinions. Its a big phat ( der i spelt fat wrong ) yes in my book, he has failed bigtime to move us forward, brought us nothing but false promises, relegation dogfights, dwindling crowds, absolute terrible signings, 14 badly appointed coaches, a pathetic 1980s customer service operation, a nwc amateur club shop, a non existant PR team, a CEO who is a complete waste of time, money and space .( a bit to close to home is that lyrad red), A needless director of football, right hand man who is another waste of time money and space. Pretty abismal reading if you ask me. Pardon me for pointing out the failings.

The fact remains for all his endeavours JW has failed to improve. How many coaches has he sacked for the same failing.

No matter how much money he has put in what has he achieved with the club?. We haven't won a single thing of any worth. 29 years of broken promises and shattered dreams.

Snape put his own money in and delivered the championship a Wembley appearance and a team full of internationals who went to australia and WON the Ashes.

As mesiahs go JW is very much an amateur and an absolute proffessional at keeping us afloat!

I am growing a little tired of DI's stuttering and headache inducing posts. A lot of people have turned right off the Turkey due to the lack of reasoned discussion in favour of keyboard bell-endery.

No point saying anything else to DI or the number of 'Negs' (A term for people who only post negative sputum and disappear when anything vaguely positive happens) as they just resort to displaying their idiocy in favour of reasoned debate. As will probably happen with this post...

Well said and I agree with all the reasoned comments on here so far. I think another thing to bear in mind about the last 29 years, and something you alluded to in your post Butcher, is that DI seems to think that JW took over this club when it was in rude health both on and off the park at the end of the Snape era, when in fact the club was already in terminal decline with a chairman (Keith Snape) who had no money to invest (to replace the likes of Watkins, Fielding, Hesketh, Dixon, Coulman, Nash etc. who were all getting old together) and no real appetitie to carry on.

JW came in with a little more money and a lot more passion but quickly realised that our glory days were well and truly over and that the best we could hope for was to make ourselves as competitive as we could whilst making sure the club :3lx556vesurvived. I, like many others, am frustrated with some of the shambolic marketing and administrative gaffes that the club seem to be determined to be experts in. Howewver, this does not mean that the Chairman has not achieved something remarkable in comparison to other clubs that we should benchmark ourselves against (because they broadly fall into the same category as us in that they were successful in the past but then fell on hard times) over the last 29 years and those probably include Oldham, Castleford, Wakefield Trinity, Dewsbury (yes, Dewsbury who won the old first division back in 1972/3), Featherstone Rovers and Hull KR - now look at that list and tell me that both on and off the field JW hasn't performed well as a chairman when compared to those clubs.

I wasn't going to bother posting on this thread because most of what's been said in response to those criticising JW has been well thought out and balanced but I did think the point above was missing and was worth making. I now await DI's ill-thought out and vitriolic response.

The fact is that every post you write has been corrected by me or another member of the turkey. Your remark's get anhilated time and time again, yet you still come back and say the exact same vile thing's thing about JW. I genuinely believe you dont read any ones post's, you just come on here and write the same thing.

Do you not grasp this debate is not about the performance of JW and the board ? Me and a few other's have agreed with your point that JW's performace has been poor at time's and someone fresh (with money - somthing else you dont grasp ) would be great. So what he's sacked coaches and not won anything worth mentioning. Yeh we agree, so what's your point - your arguning with yourself.

You still keeping saying "so what if he's put more of his own money in" and "so what he's kept the club alive" - It's simple to understand that had he not the club would be in a far worse position today, if here at all. So yeh the club's been managed poorly...and what....get rid of JW and his money? Who will replace him? Who do you know with passion and money that we dont ? SO point out the failing's all you want, we all know about them and none of us agree with them, but bear in mind with those failing's come the money required to actually keep us at a level worth failing at.

To my mind something happened prior to the 26th August 2011 that caused DI to start posting here with his comments regarding the club,the board and staff members.

There is a saying "Its not what you say its the way that you say it" and DI clearly has never heard it.

If he could speak to his main targets for his vicious verbal assaults face to face and if he listened to their reply's to his questions he would I am sure change some of his views, I would hope that he would then tone down his rhetoric on the forum as it helps to see the full story before passing judgement.

I have no idea who DI is but I do know some of the boards other detractors and I am eagerly awaiting for the handshakes and shoulder pats that they usually give the chairman and other board members before and after games and at a variety of other events.Two faced comes to mind.

Even though I made the above post, this needs to be corrected: JW does not know me from Adam. He does not know my e-mail (currently not working), phone numbers or address: I do not tweet nor facebook. He could not contact me to do this if he tried. Also I am no lapdog: 30+ years trade union activity should prove that. I do not do any boss's dirty work for anyone.

I was there in the 70's: well before then, to be honest. I am grey haired and bearded and remember the arrival of the Snape brothers. I also remember those scenarios that "Always behind the sticks" remembers.
I was involved in Town Team Rugby in Oldham when the Oldham Bears went under: so many fans said to me how much they admired JW and envied our having him as a chairman.
I have spoken to two of the ex-coaches referred to and they cannot praise JW enough: both were sacked by him. Ex-player after ex-player tell me how much they admire this man. I take their opinions before yours. They are what the legal trade refer to as expert witnesses.

The fact is that we have been performing as a business above what we should have been for many years. That is down to JW.

He's made errors but who hasn't.

Without him, Salford would have been a minor club of part-time amateurs playing in Division 2, if we were lucky.
