is ricky stewert on short list or are we clutching to hope. i cant see us attacting a top class coach as stewert and cant see him working with steve simms. and also dont see veivers being appointed if the club want a top coach. Again the club never bring in a big name one we aint attractive propasition and 2 we only have small budget so cant see it being a big name at this time.

id be suprised if it wasnt millward!big mate of simms and wilky trusts simms!people are deluded if they dnt think this sort of thing happens!lot of people tell me wilky is a nice guy!,i think personally he has alot of wool pulled over his eyes by certain people behind the scenes!love us to be forward thinking like huddersfield in regards to coach but cnt see it happening!

I don't think Gentle or Wrigley or the others will do that, Hanley would be the name,but I am not sure he would
entertain Simms.And we no he is fire proof.

I would love ricky stewert to get the job but like i say are we an attractive proposition for ricky stewert and i say again i do not think we could afford him. He would be a great aquasition though but like most poeople i have a sneaky feel for millward and yet again steve simms having his own way. according to advertiser we only have to wait a week . If we conducted interviews by Skpe and it went wrong there would be the usual posters telling us how unprofessional the club are.

Interviews need to be face to face to see if these candidates genuinely want to come and whether they fit in with what the club are trying to achieve, doing this via Skpe isn't ideal.

I would say if the club want to progress and intend to appoint a coach for more than 12 months then that has to be no to both Noble and Kerr. We need new blood and ideas. I hope the club give the coach freedom to appoint staff for the first team including conditioner etc.

I couldn't agree more with this tbh. The Skype suggestion moust've been some sort of wind up. I stated earlier that this isn't only Salford appointing the right coach, it's about us convincing the coach that we are the club to come to. You can't do that over the phone. You have to make the effort to go and sell Salford to your desired candidate. This is as much an interview for the Salford board to the new coach as it is the coach to Salford.

Make no mistake,the real challenge is not to check out the coach but to sell the club to him.

Who ever ends up coaching Salford will not make a lick of difference. Even if they get hold of somebody like Wayne Bennett they will still be the laughing stock of rugby league!

Spot on. I also think it's extremely important the club do some work out there asking the right questions to as many of the NRL people as possible about these applicants.
