Erm... I've managed to get home to Blackburn earlier than that, which included swapping trains at Preston to complete my journey so don't quite understand the public transport with the wink bit!!

Because you referred to driving. Hence winkage.

true, so I will take back my lol
my reference to driving to Perth was only at the astonishment that I can watch a game, wait for the stadium car park to clear and drive all the way to Perth (over 250 miles away) in little more time than someone getting to Preston...
perhaps when i do take public transport, i opt for the most time efficient options, never mind

| I'm with Perry Boy i can't drive either and come from Warrington and take exactly the same route. Occasionally i'll get a lift but i'm sick of fans saying it takes ages to get out of the stadium etc. Stop making excuses and just go the game most home games are now played on a Sunday so you've got plenty of time to get home and be fresh for work the next day!

| Sundays should take much of the public transport excuse out of the way, especially with lighter days. Out of interest, how are people from places such as Swinton and Walkden finding getting to the ground by public transport? And does it differ much from when we were at The Willows?

| Can't people just get a bus or park further away from the ground.
Out of interest who's not renewing their season ticket next season?

| Brilliant suggestion for Cam and GT.
On the way past Preston on the M6/M61 you could drop GT off, scintillating company and that snug feeling you've helped someone swerve the sheer hell that is public transport.

On a Friday night? If you left early and/or ran for the 22.07, you'd have a chance. Unless it's a Sky game, in which case you've no chance. As it is, I'm usually looking at an hour later, which gets in as the last direct train to Preston from Victoria is due to leave. If it's late departing, I'm OK, but still get home about 20 to 1. If it leaves on time, I'm only arriving back at Preston around 1ish.
There's another option via Newton-le-Willows and Bank Quay, which will get you in at 23:45, but my ticket's only valid through Manchester, so I'm screwed on that one.
The upside is that I get a swift half in either the Grapes or the Queen's Arms after the game.

It's much easier now from Walkden, given the club provide a coach that leaves club 147 an hour before kickoff for £5 return, drops us literally at the door, and sets off before they let the traffic out of the car park so we get away quickly.
Unfortunately there's never more than 10 of us on it so next season it will probably be sacked off.
I'm fairly sure if you offered the service with free beer, hookers and they paid us £5 folk would still find excuses not to use it.

MR, a very good thought which could potentially work depending on the following:
1. On wheteher GT is decent company
2. How good is the personal hygiene of GT
3. If GT is a non smoker (can't stand even the hint of cigarettes)
4. If GT could handle being in back of car when my queen is riding shotgun on her numerous appearances
5. How generous GT would like to be (I defo like £s lol)
6. GT can appreciate a diverse taste in world music
7. The list is not exhaustive!!!!!

He has ginger hair, I'd give it a swerve just in case he molts on the back seat

I don't usually discriminate MR, however, I'm thankful you mentioned GT being ginger...that's just sooooooo wrong and he should be forced to dye all the hair on his body, OR, walk about with a sign that reads "God's Less Unfortunate Creation" lol
