First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg

Quote: Fozzysalforddevil "Warrington away is one of the toughest places to go too, plus there playing out of there skin at the moment probably the form team in the competition as when we played them last time they were going through a really bad spell, were not too far away for me it probably won't happen this year top8 that is but certainly next year i have all the confidence in them.'"

I feel for Iestyn Harris. He must feel like he's working very hard fixing the leaks in the bucket, only for the lads to trip up and drop it, probably due to fatigue. I'm sure all the work will have to payoff at some stage. I think Iestyn's Wigan style defence requires extra fitness and it's about our players adjusting to the extra intensity.

Yes i think we dropped the ball 3 times which led to tries, it will be interesting on the highlights. Harris has improved us but we seem to be getting tough game after tough game, im hoping Cas will have the semi final on there mind and we'll get a win we need some players back though!

What about the In Goal Judge impeding Meli on the lead up to that first try. Why on earth was he so close? Many things not running right against us currently but it will level out.

I know this has been said a million times, but we are heading in the right direction. Small steps will eventually become big strides next season.

Ps, I'm not named Iestyn.

Quote: theredshed "I'm not intentionally trying to put a dampener on things but we conceeded 36 points. Compare this with the 28 pts and 14 points in the previous two games against Wire under Noble. OK we may now be getting an extra player in the tackle to slow down the PTB but the fact is we still conceeded more points.'"

Yes , that's right and we are still not winning games.
I think Lee played his guts out and did make 3 howlers but that's going to happen when you're playing the style of game that Harris is attempting.
Until the last try ,even after Chase's badly missed conversion,we were still just about in the game so the fans rightly gave the team plenty of cheers at the end

I'm seriously thinking of taking a restraining order out against you. I bet you were dead giddy to come on here and name check us all. I've never suggested we'd be better off still under Noble, either, just that I didn't think we'd shown much in the way of improvement in Harris' first few games. If those signs of improvement do come, I'll happily discuss them. Unlike you, I've no agenda aside from wanting to see Salford RLFC be successful. I'm sure the others you've mentioned above would agree with me.

As it is, I wasn't there yesterday, so I can't really comment on the performance. However the general reaction I've seen seems to be "signs of improvement" coupled with "we're still making stupid mistakes". Games such as yesterday were never the ones most of us were expecting to win, even at the start of the season. Cas away and the games against the two Hull clubs will give us a good idea of how much improvement we've made.

I agree with GT (God how will not believe that), I think the Cas game next weekend is the one where we either stand upp too be counted for the rest of the season or just coast home hoping too pick up the odd scruffy win.

Cas have over achieved this season and are there too be beaten and you'd bet that Chase will take along his extra large bag of tricks especially for the big occasion.

Salford Red Devils RLFC. [quote="Gotcha":y7izhg01]Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]:

What’s the injury situation like for Cas? We naturally missed Theo and Hock yesterday. We were also without any interchanges during the final 20 due to further injuries.

Dropped ball & daft penalties:-
lying on - interference at the PTB, high tackles did for us , rarely did Warrington get a try score opportunity without our help.
Also Lee tried hard , but he's in no way a half back , hopefully Fages will be back along with Hock .

Well you are a sensitive chap GT. All the years you`ve been dishing it out & I have the temerity to suggest that you were a Noblefile? Dearie Me. This is a Forum for all Salford Fans who want to see the Devils improve and in my view thats exactly what they are doing.

Agree Cas & the 2 Hull clubs will be a marker but I have seen so far a distinct improvement in the attack, defence & above all enthusiasm from the lads. Lets hope it all continues on this upward curve.

Every team is there to be beaten ( not just us ). Look at Wakefield doing Wigan over - would most people have expected that ? Maybe we have overacheived this season but then again maybe, just maybe, it could be a sign of things to come for us in the future. We've not splashed out on big named players but quietly recruited the right players and got them to play better than we have done for several years.

Have we become too tolerant as supporters due to years of struggle. Are we too used to losing all the time? I could imagine other clubs supporters being up in arms if their team had underperformed like we have this year. I remember a few years ago the Wakey fans did a sit in protest at Knowsley Road after a terrible run. The chairman and coach had to go out and face the supporters but it worked because they turned things around and started playing with fire and they won a few games after it. Radical action but it had a positive effect.

Maybe but we can't keep using this as a reason to appreciate being a Salford supporter, regardless of performances and results. The Doc has invested a lot of money and needs to see some kind of return.

Sensitive? I just find it laughable that you're bringing my name up as often as possible. I should be flattered, I suppose.

Strangely enough, I do want Salford to improve, I just don't feel the improvement has been as noticeable and as quick as you've suggested in recent weeks. Of course, my opinion may be slightly soured as I expected our side to be a tad more competitive this season than they have been.

There has been improvement in some areas, but in others we've stagnated. Hopefully we can build on things, particularly now the spectre of relegation has been cleared (I hope that's not speaking too soon!) Fingers crossed the new crop of signings work out a lot better than the last lot and help us move forward.
