That's a far more common procedure than you might first think, Iain!

| Just over 4000 there tonight.
Very worrying sign for the reds.
What happened to the so called 8k+ ticket sales. Clearly that appears to have been a load of rubbish.
your not telling me that 4000 people bought tickets for the match then decided cos it was cold they would knock it on the head.

Not sure where you get your 4000 from la as official attendance was 5282. Yes, it's disappointing but I'm not surprised given the weather. It was never gonna be a sell-out but think 7k-8k could have been achieved given some half decent weather. The "floating" fans more than likely stayed at home in front of the fire & watched on Sky. Decent effort by the Cas fans to make it over and safe journey home guys & gals!

It was actually 5242 but don't let the facts get in the way of what I would agree was a dreadful turnout. Whoever on here posted we'd sold over 8300 as well, I'd say next time wherever you get your info from keep it to yourself!

Sky reported an attendance of just over 4k.
So looks like the figures have started to get massaged upwards to put a bit of spin on things.

In which case Sky are incorrect. Having been one of the frozen fools that attended tonight I'm fairly confident the official figure is more accurate. However, it was still a disappointing turnout and I won't dispute that.

I don't recall any figure given on Sky. There's nothing on text that's for sure.
Was a poor turn out though, regardless of the weather.

It was around 4,500 on the screen at the end of the match , which looking at the pictures would be about right , you really have to feel for Salford, they had planned a full day of events, then the weather kills it stone dead.

| About 20 minutes before the game someone working in the ticket office said over 9,000 tickets have been sold, that's clearly a lie and I don't get why they would need to lie about that. Just over 5k for the first ever Super League game at a new stadium, weather aside it was an awful turn out and the performance wasn't much better, don't see how we're going to survive for much longer.

| 12 of us went tonight,6 regulars,4 ex regulars and 2 new lads. The day was cracking, the rugby and the experience served up to us at the iconic stadium was well laughable. The 4 ex and the 2 new lads want to do it again without the rugby thrown in.Sums it up really. That lot behind the scenes have had months to plan this event,an they come up with that. What makes it worse in my eyes we were on telly,i don`t know what it looked from there but we the regulars were embarrassed.Has for the game, never looked like winning it,beaten in every department, won`t knock the effort i thought the lads had a go,but soundly beaten.
