Why have the clause in the first place?
No I can see exactly why the Doc has done this, he is a world class player and any team is strengthened when he plays (and stays on the pitch) by signing him, stopping him playing against us is sound business sense.

But is it a contract or an agreement, agreements aren’t legally binding, I could have an agreement even in writing that I’m willing to purchase your house but can back out at any point up until the contracts are signed, like wise you with me and legally there’s naff all either of us could do. |

If he can get round it, I have no doubt that Hock would be the type of character to go back on his word to the club and chairman that supported him when many wouldn't and released him from his contract at his request to allow him to move on with his career.
