There was a rumour not long back that we had signed him but that fizzled out after (I think) he signed a new contract. I don't really see the point in bringing in a replacement for Myler now as we already have Ratchford and Smith, unless Smith starts playing 9 which I doubt. |

Why would we play smith at nine if we getting drew and Tommy lee, which both are hookers. |

Drew is unlikely to play more than 50% of games. However if you get him on a reasonable contract he is a class player. He is a gamebreaker.
Would love to have him back at the Giants for a year.

Well, Steve knows he's taking the p iss with this comment. There's a ton of overseas players out of contract and more floating around the lower grades that could cut Super League quite easily. I'd be surprised if this was a move made by choice.
The latter part of this quote emphasises the real issues: either saving money/no money or avoiding potential visa headaches. |
