I saw the highlights on the superleague show today, and I have to say you're talking bollox, sir. McGilvray leant forward with his arm fully outstretched and INTERCEPTED Dorn's pass and went on to score a great try.
I have to say though that our first try may not have been given had we had a video referee.

| Finally sober, I missed the try of the match whilst in attendance at the bar
the second half started very slowly and for 30 mins it looked like a typical Half Time talk performance, then the lads seen to forget what the Walrus had said and played their own game resulting in two tries and winning the game.
We also got some smooth today after a whole season of Rough, but hey the ref is closer to the action so he can see more than us in the stands
3 wins from the last 3 matches very possible, could even do the Double over a couple of clubs.

| Great ground to go to the Stoop, and considering we had $od all to play for not a bad turnout.
Harlequins were dreadful.
Considering they can still get in the play-offs then I was surprised at the lack of intensity shown by their players.
Some of our players are clearly running out of gas, but even then we had enough to beat Quins.
Smith still worries me with his rabbit in headlights game, but that is the only complaint I have
Thought Luke Adamson was immense, where he gets the energy from to tackle and drive like he does I will never know.
Fitzy looking good again,
All in all a good day out.

| Just watching the highlights of the game on the Super League website.
Wilshere's first try was dubious and if it were a tv game we probably would have been awarded the dropout instead.
Absolute quality offload from Henry for Wilshere's 2nd. Couldn't see him getting the ball out properly from the stand but he did really well to put him over. Also Robbie's dummy that sent the whole Quins defence the wrong way

Saw the same highlights and now I agree re the interception.
I can only think that, when watching the match live, I could see it coming before Dorn released the ball and so my brain (such as it is) somehow put itself in the position of your winger and got there at the same time as he did. Make sense? Probably not but it's the best explanation I have.
As for the try, you're probably right. I suspect that the in-goal judge couldn't see Melling's touchdown because Melling was obscuring his view. The guy in the next seat to me said that the touch judge was waving his flag horizontally. I don't know what that means. Could be "no try" or "I couldn't see it"? Purdham tried but failed to get Allibert interested.

It means the linesman didn't know, in which case it was up to the ref to make a decision, with the aid of the in-goal official if he saw it clearly, which as you say he probably didn't. Benefit of the doubt to the attacking team.
You don't often see it but a horizontal wave of the flag is one option the touch judge has when adjudicating on a goal kick - up for a goal, down for a miss, horizontal for a don't know. If one touch judge makes a decision and the other is a don't know, the referee can overrule the one who made the decision. If both touch judges agree the referee has to accept their decision.

Granted not the horizontal flag waving but I'm sure this season we've had it twice in the same game where the 2 touch judge's made differing desicions for a goal kick and the ref gave one and dismissed the other.
I remember being rather upset about one of them, lol.

Thanks for that. I'll try to remember it.
