| Think that Mason will be a target for every team he plays against next season, it's to be hoped we do it legally as you can't see him liking getting put on his backside and reacting and giving away silly penalties.

| Mason will be targeted over here like Moz was when he went over to oz! I think he will smash it up over here and love the fact he will be targeted!

| My Rooster-supporting mates in Sydney reckon Mason is the most over-rated player they've seen at the SFS in a good long while

Clearly hasn't been watching the games properly then has he.
Mason has been looking for work in most games, and offloads regularly.
And before anyone asks, I've seen the majority of NRL games this season, not just the ones on MSK

For the money that KR are probably paying him, its a big gamble. He isn't as good as he used to be and if North Queensland, who finished bottom (not including Melbourne) don't want him then he can't be too good. Its a good publicity signing though, its a just a big gamble, one that I'm glad Salford didn't take.

Really? Funny that as I've seen two thirds of the Cowboys games this year, as well as almost half of the Roosters season in 2009 live, as I lived 10 minutes from SFS.
The Roosters are also the team of choice for my cousin. His opinion of Mason last year can't be repeated on a family message board.
Sure, he occasionally looks for work and manages to offload. This doesn't mean he produces any quality.
Perhaps me, my cousin and the vast majority of Roosters fans weren't watching him "properly." I doubt it though.
Look, Mason has become nothing more than a joke figure. All mouth and no action. Maybe a move to the UK will shake him out of his apathy but I somehow doubt this also. All the best in the play-offs Scott_HKR.

Nope, downloading.
And we all know there are younger, better forwards in the NRL, bucket loads, but Mason is gonna tear this league up, no doubt.

Depends what mentality he comes over with, a lot of forwards will want to be giving him a hard time as well.

He may or may not tear up the league, but Mason's biggest problem is that most his wages go up his nose.
Get him sorted and I'm sure he'll go alright, but once a sniffer, always a sniffer......

I've seen plenty of games myself over the last few years, and he's been absolute garbage. His last 3 coaches have been glad to see the back of him, he picks and chooses when he turns up for training, and he's average at best when he plays.
He'll sell shirts, no doubt. But the novelty will soon wear off. Unfortunately for HKR, if it wears off for Mason as early as I expect it to, don't bother buying a shirt with his name on for his second season.

If Mason can put another 1000 on the average home gates at Craven Park, help get them to a final or attract new sponsors then it could be a good move. If neither of these things happen he will considered by most to be a complete waste of money. It will be interesting to see what commercial impact a very high profile overseas player has in the British game these days.
