| Hope he's joining, looking at the Q n A on the Pie site in view of the love shown for our "new" signing we may take some of their women aswell
Just need to resurrect that Red Hot Dutch Sponsorship and we`re pretty much guaranteed sell outs.

Presumably shareholders in Galloways Pies are breathing a sigh of relief that he's signed for a nearby club and won't have to move away

| Really can't get enthused about this, sorry he's a luxury prop and not a grafter, for me he does nothing different from Big Phil but i'll bet he is on considerably more than Phil. We need a prop who knuckles down and puts in the bit hits as much as the big hit ups. Don't think he has the right work ethic but I stand to be corrected.
By the by is this fact yet or just speculation?

I've just taken a look at Palea'asina's Super League stats and compared them to our current props and I've got to say I'm very surprised. I'm not sure there's any real need for anyone to be on a downer if we did sign him really. (I know Sidlow has mainly played in the second row but he was signed as a prop)
Match Averages
Meters
Palea'asina – 98
Cashmere – 93
Leuluai – 82
Neal – 81
Sidlow – 77
Boyle – 69
Jewitt – 56
Carries
Cashmere – 14
Neal – 14
Sidlow – 13
Palea'asina – 12
Leuluai – 12
Jewitt – 10
Boyle – 10
Tackles
Cashmere – 24
Sidlow – 24
Jewitt – 19
Boyle – 19
Leuluai – 16
Neal – 15
Palea'asina – 14
Offloads
Cashmere – 41
Palea'asina – 31
Sidlow – 29
Leuluai – 20
Jewitt – 9
Boyle – 3
Neal – 3
So for me, with the exception of Cashmere, he's comparable if not better than what we already have, and when you consider he may take over the Leuluai impact from the bench roll, he'd be an improvement

What makes you think we're not going to sign one? we're still linked with Carl Webb, Ben Cross & Willie Mason.

| I think it's a good signing in comparison to what we currently have, especially if he is going to be used as an impact player only. The other props we have can last the game out and he can come on and off when best suits.

The one set of stats that impresses me in that lot is Neal, he doesnt look like a prop yet but for sure looked very competant and worth the punt for a year.
Just heard them talking on GMR about Feka and how he is to static in defence and gets targeted, to me not a good thing when we are minus Swain and Alker next season, they went as far as to say he needs to be hidden when in defence. Sorry for me a prop is as much about his defence as his hit ups.
I'd love to think we would land any of those who are linked with as any of them would add a considerable force to the forward line and be the backbone and hardman I personally think we have missed. Bring back Korki is what I say LOL

| I've stated earlier on this thread that the amount and quality of his tackling does raise a few questions, but as an impact player who offloads effectively, he's defo worth a deal, as long as his wages aren't too high.
Anyhow, by the way things are shaping up with all these signings ......... he might not have to do much tackling

Feka has signed for Salford City Reds. Friday I believe he signs the contract.
Something which most supporters will overlook is how significant the signing of Feka is 'off the field' too. He is a fans favourite and has always been involved in community events & youth coaching camps. The market potential with Feka is excellent, especially with the young kids who follow Salford RL.
Next year it looks like you will finally have a side that is capable of getting into the play offs/having a good run in the challenge cup & that can compete with the top sides. If you can sort out the 20,000 seater stadium then I applaud the Salford club. It's excellent for Super League. Although my only criticism would be the lack of Junior development. Difficult in the Salford area perhaps, but still no excuse. Hopefully these signings will inspire the youth in Salford to take up the game and become the next 'Luke Pattern's', 'Feka Paleaasina's' etc.

The reason he is leaving Wigan is for his lack of fitness and mobility in defence. Let's not kid ourselves. I would have liked to have seen us give Feka more time like we have given Karl Pryce. Personally, I think he does have the potential to bite us in the backside should he get himself back into the shape & fitness he was in at the NZ Warriors. On his day, Feka Paleaasina can be a devastating impact prop forward. Just youtube his name and see for yourself. A nice bloke who will always give 100% for your side. In the big games he can win matches for you (ala St.Helens away for us this season), but also lose matches for you (ala Warrington Wolves Semi-Final). On balance though you would be foolish to say this isn't a positive signing for Salford RL. I wish him and your club all the best for 2011 & for the stadium application.

| The market potential with Feka is excellent, sure is we could double the amount of stadium advertising just sticking stuff on his shirt.
On a more serious note perhaps we now may get bigger sizes in the shop for the more discerning over large and muscle bound gentleman.
