| Rangi had miles more ball then sneyd last night. I'm not gunna bag rangi because I don't have a short memory but you pretty much seem to be judging sneyd on his 2 games vrs Salford, which truth be told were 2 of his quieter games this season.

| I don`t think Evalds will be going out on Loan to Cas. Quality.

| I'm judging him on every game I have seen from this season, which is quite a few due to Sky. Don't get me wrong he's had a good year, as have the majority of Cas players this season but I'm not seeing anything I didn't see from him with us last season.
I thought Cas best player was Weller Hauraki last night, which bodes well for us next season.

That's because he really wants to play for us.
To be fair, we're not just judging him on those two games. We've seen him play fairly regularly for the past few years, and while he's had some very good games, I don't think any of them have reached the standard Rangi has achieved for us at times this season. Like Rangi, he's also capable of being invisible. Marc's biggest strength is his kicking game, and we'll miss that (although I think Michael Dobson is a more than adequate replacement), but, as I say, although it's a shame to see a home grown player go, if I had to choose between Rangi and Marc, I'd go for Rangi.
Niall Evalds, though, is a different kettle of fish. He's the closest to a genuine potential international that we've produced in some time. Although he can fill in in a few positions, I think he's a full-back. His positioning last night was spot on, and he's been the best full-back at diffusing bombs and grubbers that we've had since the legendary Gary Broadbent, the benchmark by which defensive full-backs are judged. Add to that his absolutely blistering pace, and I think we've got a real find on our hands. It does worry me a little bit that he'll drift out of the picture when Kevin Locke arrives, but it's nice to have such worries for a change.

I think most of us judge him on the last few seasons of watching him every week.

Salary cap - you're havin a laugh.: |

| Most of our fans never really seemed to 'get' Sneyd. I'm not sure why, maybe it was because he always featured in a poor side for us. Whilst he is nowhere near the finished article he has the potential to be a top player imo.
As for Evalds, if Harris finds a space in the team for him despite the arrival of Locke, he might start to win me over. However, chances are he will be loaned out next year, the majority will proclaim it as a good move as with Sneyd, etc etc.

| We were quite dreadful yesterday from an intensity point of view, You out enthused us all game and this meant our backs had no time to play at all, Marc included.
Fwiw. I hear the fee is set at £100k. And we won't be paying it, it's not in the real world that's for sure for a player with 1yr remaining.
Marc's likely to come sit out a year then join us for free the year after.

| Well the scenario I was told yesterday was that he`s likely to be sold in the winter to.................................. Saints
but in addition 2 x Rugby Union Clubs are interested in him as a Goalkicking Full Back . Good luck to him but he won`t be featuring with the Reds unless his agent comes down to Earth.

I'd see if we could do a swap for McCarthy-Scarsbrook, get him and Caton-Brown playing and we start to have more double barrel names than the England cricket team.
In seriousness if he is going to Saints I'd hope we asked who they would be willing to swap for him, do get the feeling he'll go down the same route as Myler and head off to RU.

Just to clarify, I would've had him in the team long before now (instead we got Jack Murphy on loan) however with our signings for next year will he keep his place? I hope he does but it's not really the way Salford operate. Although I will be delighted to be proved wrong on this one.

With all due respect, there's little or no chance of this scenario happening.

Yeah, no way will that happen.
He'll go for a player swap, cash or a combo of the two. I feel that his good season with Cas will have just been a shop window. I feel that Cas will probably not live up to their achievements this season for next year. Losing key players will be the big ask of Powell, and I feel a second season syndrome coming on. That's not bitterness, it's just an obvious observation based on the fact that every team outside of the big four or five has always struggled to continue good consistent form after a good season. With respect to Cas, if Saints or Wigan or any other team of similar standing expressed an interest he'd be rightly chomping at the bit.
To think that he'd happily sit around and ignore good offers so he can freely move to Cas after a season nobody yet knows will be successful, is living in dreamland.

| Also worth pointing out that this idea that he's so keen to play for Cas he's willing to sit out a year doesn't explain why his agent was trying to pimp him out to Wigan.
