| As said above by the previous 2 posters, East Stand would be the best one to use. Like when we go places such as Huddersfield the other week, no one who wanted to stand sat down so why not trial it and see how it goes? It would also offer a much better view, circulate the noise from the fans better on to the pitch and also make the stadium look better on the cameras, even on highlight reels.
must be worth at least trialling for one game and sure if we got the doc on board with it he could push the SMG to action it even if it does cost a couple quid more to go in the East over the South.

| Last Sunday stood shivering in the south stand, both me and my partner headed for the warmth of the sun shining on the east stand. Bliss. Watching Salford from the touchline for a split moment at least made me think I was stood in the shed. Would much rather stand at the back rather than sat down but I'm sure if a critical mass was to join me we'd be able to.

| Tbh, we've been FAR to accepting of this corporate, H&S obsessed boring brand of stadia. Yes there's seats in the stand we'd rather have terracing and this very fact amounts to the stadium company/developer naively ignoring our request but we could just take the initiative and do things our way.
Thoughts, or has this sailed down the canal?

| My Season ticket is for the East Stand and I don't want to move to the South Stand end. I sit in the middle and am quite happy with my view thanks. Moving to the South Stand would restrict my view of the corner at the other end. We made the choice between view or standing. The stand is getting better for noise but still the whole ground is quiet.
We have to accept that at this stage the chances of removing the current seating for the seating that can be converted to standing just isn't going to happen.
We therefore need the club to listen to which stand the home fans want. for next season. This something they can change.
Can this be raised with Marwen via his fans frum thing (if it still exists)

| Sorry to pour cold water on the migration to the East but:
the ground belongs (largely at least) to Peel,
any changes in seating (ie rom seats to terraces) would have a cost implication,
and the primary tenant is Sale who would have to agree to any changes to facilities.

| Forget taking seats out, just stand. When has seating ever stopped Salford fans from standing? There is no need for terracing in the East.

Just depends on how ars ey G4S are on a given match. It varies, seemingly.

True, but if the majority of the South moved across they wouldn't even bother trying to police it. It would be a thankless task asking circa 1,000 to sit down every 10 minutes.
Who is the leader of the South Stand clique thesedays and who do we need to speak with to organise such a trial?

| We don't even need to ask the club you can hover between the East and South stands on gamedays anyway.
I would prefer if we got the club to promote it though. We need to get the flags put up too!
When we travel to Hull on Friday I doubt that many of us will be taking our seats.

A non trolling Cas fan here....
I honestly think you would be facing a losing battle if you were to try standing in a seating area, especially when you have two terraced stands.
True, it would be hard for a handful of stewards to force 1000+ of you to sit down so they would probably follow the same process as I have seen at Leeds Urd - the stewards know they can't get 6,000 people in the Don Revie stand to sit so they spend the first ten minutes asking you to sit down, then they start picking out at random people who are stood up and eject them. It leads to a bad atmosphere, especially when the ejected persons friends become involved.
I hate seating at sports matches by the way, especially at the older stadiums as I struggle to get my lanky legs in but likewise I hate the idea of spending £20-25 to watch a match only to be ejected.

| I'd rather stand to watch RL as sitting down seems to dull the atmosphere. However, I dislike watching RL from either end of the pitch even more. So I'm forced to pick the lesser of two evils for me.
I miss the Shed.
The atmosphere, noise, familiar faces, funny moments and banter when the occasional group of opposition fans settled in there. The way the players always played for the Shed, looked to it to make noise and intimidate the opposition, and we were always the first place the players came to after the final whistle. Sentimental nonsense maybe, but you simply can't get that feeling back while stuck at the end of a pitch. At least to me anyway. We need to be in the middle, in the heart, being the extra man.
Not that it's likely to change though.
