| I heard it was just that Walne was training and performing better so he got the nod over Tasi. Not sure putting Hock in the front row is the answer though. Wonder if that was just to put him up against Sims? Thought Morley was immense again and the other props went well but, as others have said, they need to make more ground. Didn't miss Tasi too much

| I think hock did well in the front row. Paterson for me even after 1 game has nailed the loose position. Wow what a debut. I think tasi will come in for walne possibly i can see hock n taylor going again at prop!

| I think Hocks wasted at prop, it tires a very destructive wide player out. HH, Hock and Paterson for me.
We have a strength in depth in the forwards most SL teams would love and in the Walnes I'm convinced two young players who in years to come will have England/GB aspirations.

| I thought Hauraki had a great game as well. Think Griffin will miss out when Junior is fit.

| Were you at the same game? How many penalties did he concede? He was out in the centre & kept running into the defender.Made half a break towards the end but, it was on the other side, passed into touch. I hope I am wrong but feel a poor signing just to act as Rangi's chauffeur.

I never actually got why we signed him, he's a penalty machine at best and a dirty sod at worst.
With the forwards we have the money he's on could have been spent on a top notch hooker.

| Huaraki conceded 3 penalties. He made 38 tackles and 13 drives so he got through a fair bit of work.

| Yep, same number of penalties as Walne with twice the tackles and a marginally (7cm) less average gain
Interesting set of stats from round 1. Evalds top metre maker of the round and second highest average gain
Warrington had a number of forwards with 15+ carries (Hill, Westwood, Sims). Our top forwards were Lee, Hauraki and Hansen with 13. Rangi topped our list with 15. Generally though our forwards made decent metres with Paterson (2nd highest AG of any forward in round 1), Taylor (highest prop I think), Hock, Walne and Hauraki all making higher average gains than warringtons top forwards (Asotasi and Currie)
Top tacklers were Hauraki and Lee with 38 each. Both also had highest missed tackles with 3 each
38 players gave penalties away in round 1 and we had 7 of them, same as Saints and Catalans
