Don't think the thought of Kevin Penny facing him will be giving him sleepless nights. Now I said that he nailed on for a hattrick. What size is BJB never struck me as being a tall winger?

| So how many are you men likely to bring over? I'm hoping for a pretty full stadium to whet my appetite for the season!

| I wouldn't like to say a number but surely it will be a big following.
Good to hear the young lad Lannan has been called up to the first team squad for the season probably took over Dixon

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll

Do you honestly think he's a huge a weak link? I think that behind Chase and Locke he's our biggest attacking threat. He's elusive, has pace, a great rugby brain and his support play is first class. Sure there are areas of his game he can work on, but name me a player that hasn't?
I really think he will be something special, there's just something about him. And at this moment in time I think he's done more than enough to keep BJB out of the team.
And no I'm not his mum before anyone says anything

I agree. I think Evalds has got the potential to be our best academy product yet. His confidence for a young full back was incredible last year. His support play is superb, he has pace and great feet. His defence is sound too. Don't think he's up to half back yet (if ever at the top level) but at full back/wing he has tonnes of potential and I think we'll see plenty of him this season.
That said I also think Jones-Bishop is a very special player with the ability to change matches so as soon as he's match fit I'd have him in. Evalds will get his chances.
I'd have Evalds on the wing ahead of Caton-Brown for now though, not quite the blistering pace of MCB but Evalds looked to have a better all round game last year. Another great problem to have.

| I think Evalds is an incredibly talented young player who would be much more highly thought of/prized if at a Saints/Wigan or Leeds. I remain to be convinced that Locke's heart is in his move over here and I have a nagging doubt that his fitness isn't what it should be, I for one am very glad we have someone like Evalds waiting in the wings.
I think the wing spot is currently his and it is up to BJB to rest it away from him, after all he hasn't played any pre season and missed a chunk of the end of last season for Leeds.
I think it's wonderful that the Doc see's the talented youngsters we have in Evalds, Fages and the Walne brothers and think he is less likely too punt them onto other clubs as maybe previous regimes were.
All in all not a bad place to be in for a pokey little club like Salford is it?

| Think the fact we have three pages on who should shouldn't play says alot about how far the club has progressed. Even this time last year the team practical picked itself.
For what it's worth I think the fact we have a five day turnaround for Saints will have a bearing on the team selection for Wire.

I think Locke will be THE stand out fullback in super league this season, the fellow is pure class

I hope so, if he is fit and raring to go then it's a no brainer.
I'd like to see a couple of the Salford backs go in for 20+ tries, we certainly have the pace out wide and power in the centres.

i totally agree with this, Ben jones Bishop and Johnson are capable of this,
If Josh can keep the form up from last year he's in with a shout (game time permitting)
And MCB and Niall in the shadows waiting for a chance to impress can only spur the 1st teamer's and themselves on to produce when the opportunity arises.
Personally think Sa'u and Chase will bring in a truck load this year

| Griffin and S'au are both very strong, powerful centres and MCB offers blistering pace. I think it gives Harris options to best suit the type of opposition. Also, I have to say I think Niall Evalds has the potential to develop into a top class player.

Evalds has that 'something' that really great players have. It's hard to define but you can see it every time he plays. Theo is another young player that has it.

After castleford away last season, we were talking to a couple of their fans and one asked who our full back was, cos considering the conditions, it was the best display he had seen in 30 years watching rugby.
